Steam Group Promotions & Demotions and Streamers

The Elite Steam group rarely gets used nowadays, so I am posting this topic on the forums so that those who it may apply to who regularly frequent this site may see it, for example, streamers, those who wish to get event making powers etc. This thread will be updated when new streamers are given stars or inactive ones are demoted.

The group moderator (silver star) position is reserved for those who stream, cast or contribute to the mod.

I stream the Elite mod, how do I get permissions to post events?
If you stream Elite on a semi regular basis, be it every day, every other day, or even once a month, make contact with any of the gold starred members of the Steam Group, these being Codex, Caeltos, Stoned Elf, Lulgrim and myself, and ask about being able to post events on the Steam group page to reach a wider viewerbase. The process is simple, and normally the answer is a yes, though depending on who you ask you may want to provide an example of a recent vod.

Generally if you have never streamed Elite before then the admin may leave it a few days before promoting you in order for you to acclimatise to streaming the game and let you decide if you want to continue streaming. Whilst this might seem laborious, it does mean that we keep the already cluttered events section in a relatively manageable state, and due to the high frequency of events that get posted on the group the goal is to make sure they are of an acceptable quality.

If you have streamed Elite or other games before to a regular standard, expect to be given a silver star almost immediately. You are now free to post announcements and events, though generally announcements are reserved for new patch releases, DoW news, Relic news etc.

Yes, but he has made no attempts to contact anyone higher up or publish his casts to the elite community in general, so he hasn't got a star.
