Hi,
I want to get your input on the fact that you can sacrifice Bloodletters which were spawned from Khorne shrines. I believe one of the reasons the price of heretics was reduced was to encourage more usage of "Consume" or "Blood Sacrifice". For once, the global is quite spammable with a cooldown of 60 seconds and fairly cheap for just 150 red and other cost. Now if you build Khorne shrines (like a good Chaos player will most likely do) you spawn Bloodletters for free and if you so wish it, can sacrifice one of them to spawn an entire squad of them. That to me is a little bit over the top since there is no inherent risk to using that ability. If you were barred from using it on spawned Letters, you at least consider the possibility that the loss of a model on whatever unit you used the global on, means that it has diminished fighting capabilities. Right now this just isn't the case.
My question is thus: Is it fair that you can call a squad of Bloodletters to the field for just 150 red with no other downside than heaving to collect that amount of red first and having to build a shrine?

i think it ok never lost a game to this it just annoying. 150 red sounds fine maybe make shrines 20 power way to deal with it is just make him waste it.
Forums great more stuff to talk about.

I also think that it is okay.
- 150 red is not a cheap cost.
- It warns you for a long time before Blood Letters arrives.
- Those guys are not durable, any kind of focus firing or meleing can take them out.
-They are staying on the field for a very short time.
I think it is totally okay.

Didn't know you could sacrifice shrine bloodleters but considering how's the ability of chaos to hold the line normaly it might not be that bad. I'd have to see it happen to make a real decision though. Anyway usually I see people use that global to win engagement they'd be barely loosing and as long as you don't have them spawn behind a unit you shouldn't lose any squads even if you are forced to retreat.
Consider that whenever I speak of balance I'm speking of team games. I suck at 1v1 and I'm fine with that.
Re: Blood sacrifice of spawned models
It's rather fine imo. Sorry that I don't bring any extra arguments with me
The thing that wasn't fine already got addressed.
Namely the energy regen of shrines making spawned bloodletters stay around forever as long as they stay near the shrine...
Retail peeps! The best!

I think that this sentence kind of explains why it's not a big deal. If you consider that tics are the normal targets for blood sacrifice, we are talking about 13 req for one model and not really affecting the squads combat potential - melee is pretty weak as is and for GL tics, just pick a unit with the autogun. The tics still have all their worship and repair utility regardless of how many units are left.
So the difference between sacrificing a bloodletter from a shrine (and shrine having a req and power cost) vs. sacrificing a 13 req model from a starting squad is not really a big deal.
In team games you can be even more frugal by sacrificing a teammates unit, like a gm.

Re: Blood sacrifice of spawned models
personally i think its a bad move to use in on temp bloodletters any way. My reasoning is that you as a player knows that a player is going into melee combat when you use the global.
So in theory you would want to retain as much damage as possible. So in my opinion it would be more efficient to sacrifice a heretic model (hell even a CSM model) you you know full well that there is going to be a melee brawl going on. That extra bloodletter is ALOT of melee damage being wasted if it is sacrificed.
Which makes this combo a little interesting, you can save resources by sacrificing a letter at the cost of extra damage in melee. Or Bleed a bit but maximise damage in melee. No other global has this type of pro vs con aspect making it unique. I think its pretty interesting and isnt really needed to be changed.

Thank you guys for all of your input. I will incorporate your ideas into my future strategies and see how it goes.
