I wasn't aware that ranger spam was an issue, particularly against IG. A ranger does 80 damage per hit, and therefore needs to shoot twice to kill a single GM model. That means every four shots a ranger takes costs you 17 req. In that time you should be able to swamp his rangers with your GM and a spotter/catachan to support. In a straight up fight rangers will lose to almost anything.

IG can often afford to go for a very low-power T1 (some people literally spend no power, just getting GMs and a sentinel). You can respond to ranger spam by going for a fast T2 upgrade and rushing with a chimera. Your eldar opponent may try to support his rangers with brightlances, which can be dangerous if he uses the rangers cloaking effect on them so they can setup close to your vehicle undetected; however, an army that is mostly rangers and setup teams has no staying power. Keep the pressure up on him, dont let him sit still and take easy shots on you. There may not be a clean, easy way to deal with it, but that is okay, because when things get dirty his army cannot afford to bleed models the way yours can.

I had a game where eldar player got 3 rangers, insta gibbed my senti, I responded with arti spotter and another gm squad, but the suppression prevents my gm from even approaching the unit, and whenever they come close, rangers just knockback and runs away and does the same thing, arti spotter was useless in the beginning too, since he can just micro away from it too,

So the entire t1, I just kept my map presence up and tolerated the losses until t2 where I got my chimera and just drove it to them into their faces but I was just wondering if there was any counters against ranger spam for IG at t1

Play 1v1.

But seriously, if you opponent is going Rangers instead of 3x DA into 2x Shuri - you lucked out. I'd prolly pressure with double sent, double-tripple GM into a cata? T2 rush to chimera though. Careful sent play is important - they can survive 3 while volleys in fact. 80 damage per shot, times 1.3 for HI armor. Makes 104 damage per shot times 3 - 312. With 700 health before the pound upgrade, you should be ok. Bait shots with one sent, then have it hang back and push the other one up followed by your GM. Sent reveiling stealth and then starting to bleed Ranger models will keep them from setting up to fire. Maybe even get ballsy and add Stun on if you can get close.
I mean, 3 rangers with Pathfinder are 300/30 + 65/15 x3 = 1095/135. For that much you can field a pretty strong pushing force and have a LOT of power banked.

Of course, all this fails in 3v3 cause their teammates cover them. Just stall till T2 and try not to lose too much!

Often times there is not a solid T1 counter to a particular spam. Sometimes learning to soak up losses at minimal cost and delay the enemy till T2 is better - you just have to accept that you can't always win engagements in T1. As well, many T1 heavy spam builds will be wrecked by a fast vehicle in T2, since your opponent has to commit to a longer T1.
