As expected with the free-to-waagh pitch. But I wonder how long that will last tho, normal boyz might be so frustrating and boring to play, so people will pitch in those extra bucks and we won't have any boyz, but we'll have plenty of nobs instead.
Ideally, it has potential - but I'm sceptical about it in the long run.
Planetside + MMO with dungeons and alike, feels very exciting. I dunno, I just really want to see the game in action. Too much talk, to little gameplay.
Game is scheduled for next year, or 2 years from now?

Here is a super duper thread of all the videos, articles, interviews. Recent as of may 20th 2014
- The last 15minutes or so gives a detailed step by step imagining of how the game will play out. From the time a player makes a character to how he will be engaged moments after making character.
-He clarified "crafting". Basically its more "assembling" than crafting. Same thing for changing clothes appearance. It will be more like mix and match than using raw materials to craft. Obviously you cannot wear diff symbols on diff parts of gear. For example, you cannot mix Spacewolf symbols and colors with Dark Angels gear.
-Another important thing he mentioned is that you cannot team up with other factions. They are working on an idea to let you work together in the PVE environment. In the actual warfare you will never see a Ork and SM "team-up"/Group in the same squad.

ChapterMaster Valrak @Vigiliamortis · Jun 2 @miguelcaron I think you should take a look at this thread: http://tiny.cc/02vugx people think that Square Enix are going change the game

Founders package drops June 25th.
40dollars for 40k.
it will include ideas taken from Star Citizen. Behaviors other project.
the idea is that it will take the SM 18months to reach the imaginary planet ARKHONA. During that time the development team will release modules similar to star citizen in that we can test aspects of the game. Shooting ranges, command stations, crew quarters, etc.
In essence 40 dollars to beta test the game. for the next few months.

So basically you buy a pig in a poke. They haven't shown any gameplay so far and they want me to spend 40 bucks. Sorry not gonna happen. Neither they didn't come up with something new during the E3. I thought they will show up @ E3 at least they announced that.

Agree with Ar-Aamon.
We've only seen the slightest of gameplay.
Would be nice if they showcased different aspects of the game in different trailers during E3 or whilst the beta thingy is on-going or something.

I definitely take back my idea of two beta stages, which was stupid, not sure why I decided one should be paid. Maybe if they could do a real, closed beta for actual testing rather than "buy now, get free chainsword on release."
No one beta tests anymore, it is just a fancy name for demo, and $40 for an Alpha? :O

It's all part of the early access cancer, promise impossible features, promise an impossible game, sell it through Hype in early access, when people start saying it's shit reply with B-BUT IT'S AN ALPHA! And then release a piece of shit that will never ever get completed.
Take the money and run.
I don't care if you get offended by this, but people who falls for this scams are dumb, buy the full product on release, don't pay them to test their games, I wish steam also had a better policy instead of hallowing all the shovelware.

I don't the people on this forum are the kind who regularly buy into beta products, I have never bought anything like DayZ or whatever those "beat up online players (oh and maybe zombies)" games are called. They just don't entice me, and the fact that they have the unbreakable shield of beta, I cannot say it is shit. Pointless.
Pity, that they are not able to bring any RPG (quest-solving) element into the game. Will be the next regular Hack&Slash MMO as they are dime a dozen out there. IF it "will be" at all.

The game is subscription free so regular is 45 euros and with founder's program its 60ish I hear. Will get the game nonetheless due we are lacking in WH40k and I want to support good games of such lisence, I do not want WH40k die in gaming industry.
I also like the space Marine ingame voice chat voice changer... It makes voice like it is coming from VoX and as such you saw in the "teaser" or at least towards that direction. I am really hyped for this game like for EVOLVE.
Furthermore the team is experiened and full of heart for the franchise so I have my faith in their ability to bring WH40k back to spotlight. To at least atone for the sin of Dark millenium's failure altough it was not their enterprise.

@ace
I spoke to Miguel Caron the studio head that we have seen in many interviews. I brought up what you said. I don't know if you care or even believe him but since I have actually met the guy and had a few beers with him I have faith in him. This is what he had to say.
I have some friends whom are interested in the game but are HIGHLY skeptical about the results of beta. Here is what one person posted in a forum.
"It's all part of the early access cancer, promise impossible features, promise an impossible game, sell it through Hype in early access, when people start saying it's shit reply with B-BUT IT'S AN ALPHA! And then release a piece of shit that will never ever get completed.

I see some truth here but from speaking to you personally I see you care very much. I don't think this will happen under your watch. What do you think?
Miguel: Please tell him I agree with him. I had really bad gamer experience myself and even looking at some of the Founders program done by Transformers and Everquest Next make me thing that the industry has not learned its lessons but
ME: as always, thank you for taking the time to respond to me. I know you dont have to. i appreciate it
MIGUEL: WE ARE DIFFERENT (of course lol) ask him if for a Buy 2 Play PREMIUM game with NO pay2Win mechanics at launch will sell for 40$ for 40K. So in 18 the months players will ONLY get for 40$ the game key then they NEVER NEED to gives us a penny more
but for YOU and all the founders for 40$ you will get the game key!!! and.... (gimme one minute to log to our new site)...
ME:no problem brb
Warrior Pack A Game key and 4 character slots ($40 value) with Warrior Founder program exclusives including:
40,000 Points to Spend in the Rogue Trader Pre-Launch Game Access (First come, first serve!) Early Game Module Access (60 Days after Initial Access – Third Wave) Arkhona Vanguard Title Exclusive Founder Lounge Access in Forum Reserve Character Name Reserve Guild Name NOTE: For now, Founder packs will only be for PC versions of the game.
40,000 Points All Factions Unlock Pre-Game Launch Access Module Access
that 40 000 points = 1$ per 1000pts = 40$ of BONUS of Items
Let me know if this reassure him
you there?
did you faint from excitement LOL
me: sorry i was talking to the girlfriend that is cool! what if he did invest and over the next 18 months he didnt think it was worth it. is refund applicable? right before launch he thought, 'this is not what i thought the game would be"
will he have any recourse or too late? he is VERY skeptical as you can imagine hehe i have more faith after talking to you
Miguel: Ok, so I am waiting for the Legal memo on the LAW regarding refund but our unofficial position until then is to refund to any who ask until 1-2 weeks before launch. The reason behind my position is that its NO use to have a pissed off player for 40$. I think that the LAW memo will tell me that a Pre-Order should be refundable for a certain period of time
on top of that ALL the items he buys with his 40k founders point are completely refunded by pressing a reset button until the game launches...
refunded back into founders points so he can rebuild his package
Me: Alright so at worst a few weeks before launch he can refund. . At least that is the plan until you find out from your legal team?
Miguel: Yes Brother!
Me: That's a great deal. Now one last question is if everything we talked about okay to share with him? I don't want to announce or share this if you don't want me too
Miguel: of COURSE ....BeTrue, BeFair, BeTransparent
Me: Cool!
Miguel wanted to reiterate that the refund is not set in stone yet. The idea is that you can refund 1-2 weeks before launch then the standard 30day refund that all games have would apply. I dont know that this will relieve any or all of your skepticism but hopefully this helps.

Well, so much for loving Aliens then. One would think people who like something would personally handle the responsibility of the entire game rather than contracting separate parts of the game to other companies.

Well if that's true it's pretty good, but that doesn't change the basis, can they deliver their promises?

Hmm, yes, we all make promises, but it doesn't ensure delivery. At least from the emails and videos these guys actually like what they are working with.
