Returning to the question of whether games count as ranked by default or not, we integrated user authentication on the main pages (you should see your name at the top right if you are logged in on phpBB), so we can make a personal ESL settings dashboard where you can switch it on/off as you like (and override by chat commands if necessary). This requires a forum account.

We can use this to enable things like commenting or rating replays, if you like.

I made the league preferences gimmick available. Clicking on your username/avatar at the top right should open a popup where you can set whether you want ranked or non-ranked as default. The choice is saved, but the ladder scripts aren’t including it yet. Tell me if you get the thing to glitch.

I have added a "wub" function on the game details page where you can like it (once per user). I will try to get a list of most upvoted games up soon.

So what happens now then if 2 registered players have different options selected?

Depends what they declare in the chat, of course?

If they both don't say anything.

The game will not be ranked if both players haven't agreed on it. Again, this can be overridden in-game via stating "ranked"/"unranked" early. The default setting is to rank the games but this is for players that don't want that and find it annoying typing "unranked" in all of their matches. We should probably make players setting public though and we also need to add a time delay before the settings take effect.

I was wondering, how does faction popularity currently work?

Is it unique to players or is calculated by each game? EX:

Guy 1 has 100 games with faction X
Guy 2 has 10 games with faction Y

Making it look like faction X has 90% popularity on the ladder instead of 50% (assuming it's just 2 guys playing), if so, I think that faction popularity should be based around how many people main Z faction. EX:

Guy 1 has 500 games with X faction
Guy 2 has 5 games with Y faction
Guy 3 has 30 games with U faction

Making it look like that each faction shares 33% popularity.

Now if one plays 200 games with SM and 2 with Eldar would you say that both factions are as popular one another?

His faction would result as the main faction which in this case it would be SM... should quite obvious...

And I mean, currently orks are more popular than SM on the ladder, which shows how innacurate it is currently, we Know for a fact that it's SM > chaos > rest, that's why it should count by the main faction for each player.

Dude I'm trying to show you why what you suggest is flawed and how to improve it. I suppose you can't teach people on the internet...

Could always start by trying to explain yourself properly.

Submit your warnings.txt when these things happen. Seems like it's still running, you can kill the process from task manager.

Does the ladder work on 2.5? I imagine it is patch independent.

Shouldn't matter. https://dawnofwar.info/esl/match/2610

Aguxyz wrote:Will the ladder restart in 2.5?

We were not planning to reset it atm. Should it be? Why?

Neither of my matches counted, both of us had the program running and it never picked up the matches

Lot's of people still using an old version of the reporter that isn't always sending correct data. Get the latest one from the download page or use the one that comes with 2.5.

Apart from a new elite version with some big changes one reason would be that the ladder testing phase is over and it's now mostly a working ladder and there's probably less confusion as to how games are ranked. Btw, did we not have a poll thread on whether it should be reset?

Maybe we planned a poll but never put it up... Can't remember. I suppose we could just set all 2.4 games to non-ranked and recalculate the ladder. I just need to update the UI so you can browse non-ranked replays.

Link Please? I've only been using/playing this mod for a couple weeks and believe I have the newest reporter?
