That game was not ranked, and aside from that there was a disconnect. What are the rules for that?

i was pretty sure we said it was before game and that the disc was pretty much when it was all over but happy for it to be ignored no biggie :)

A disconnect should serve as an automatic loss else it is too easy to exploit - which is why it always served as such on retail ranked. However before or after game agreements can't be legitimate evidence of a ranked game because it isn't verifiable nor falsifiable. That's what I think anyway.

I'd say a DC is to be judged by the opponent(the guy who is still online) if there is no refeer, that's far from fixing the whole problem, but atleast the honest people wouldn't have trouble over them.

That could encourage somebody to grant somebody a win that otherwise they may not have deserved based on feeling of compassion etc, especially at lower skill levels when people may not have as strong game awareness and not realise that they had the slight upper hand.

It's just too subjective.

One could just concede right now at it would be the same thing, this problem solves itself when people who don't deserve to climb get suddently rekt 500-0, see retail, atleast here they can't abuse the system to reach the first places.

No, it really should not. The 2 players can agree on a solution here. Replay, discard it or declare a winner. I've had some opponents disconnect or myself disconnecting. we've always replayed so far since it was fairly early T2 every time. If the 2 players can't come to an agreement the replay can be send in with the mention of who dropped so that a referee can make a decision: declare a winner or discard it.

This is still a ranking to find opponents of your own skill. No reason to abuse anything.
I don't think we have such assholes here? We aren't n8crawler you know :p

Well I suppose that's fine with the tiny little community that we have but if it were to get much bigger I'm not so sure.

Hey, I'm pretty misanthropistic if you can't gather, so that'll explain why I really feel uneasy with not having DCs be an automatic loss.

perhaps some kind of trust rating would work. a DCed game counts as ranked but doesn't affect one's rating unless they have more than X in a specific amount of time. DCs would disappear after a certain amount of time, like a month. any more than X DCs in a ranked game would count as a loss.

the issues i see being that it's one more thing and i don't know how easy it is to see when someone dropped. if you have a 45 minute game and someone drops at the end and you have to spend 10 minutes at x4 in order to see that the person dropped and verify it that's not really an acceptable use of someone's time.

Well I can remember exactly 1 1v1 over 40mins long. Normal "long" games are around 25-30mins.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCJ3azmJjag here's dat game in case any1 was curious.

Some ranked games. The one vs OJJ (temp file) was just before the one vs Ben.
Couldn't get the screens for the game vs OJJ. He pressed a bit to fast ^^
Screens for the game vs Ben can be found on my steam. Ben was T2, I was T3.

I go by the .rec file time-stamps:

#446 (Soul_Drinkers vs. Crewfinity) saved Jan 16 @ 23.28
#453 (Soul_Drinkers vs. BigBadWoolf) saved Jan 17 @ 20.07

So according to this the BBW game was a day later...
