Yes. Moreover, in Elite, you don't even need "Over There" if you can time grappling hook. Video:

Work on this project is postponed until later in the month. I'm taking a bit of a break and then going on vacation for a while. I'll be back for the next monthly rumble tournament.

I like how Carapace armour and AoD allows the LC to play the support role (Cara still gives hp regen buff right?) which is what he should've been able to do in Retail. Good stuff:)

Now that a new patch seems to come closer I wonder what people think of the mega-rumbla. It seems to do a tad too much. Wiping genfarms with it is ghey
and annihilating other structures with ease while disrupting everything nearby making almost all enemy units very easy targets.

Especially on a teleporting commander... Granted that's sort of his playstyle to jump in and mess with enemy formations, either using suppression from his deff gun, AOE damage from his electric armor, but being able to use the mega rumblah and knock down essentially an entire enemy army seems kind of over the top, especially because you really dont have much of a chance to focus fire him down or kite away.
I don't really have much of a solution though, my only thought was increasing the startup time of the rumblah but it seems like that would take away a lot of its effectiveness against non-building targets.

IMO hes always been able to do too much but that's not likely to change

I've seen mega-rumbla being used in TFFA's to destroy bases and base turrets =p though thankfully I only saw it happening once and the guy just repaired his base while the mekboy was retreating

Mega rumblah is fine.
Pay close attention when you use it and you will see that it stuns your own units as well.
The wind up is 5 seconds on the ability as well so...
Anyway, as always, especially in these kinds of threads, please provide replays when making claims or put in a formal testing request.
On another note, work on this thread has started up again now that I am back from a brief hiatus.

Unless the rumblah has been fundamentally changed from retail, it doesn't stun your own units but it does create about ten little explosions that cause knockback to any unit hit by it. The codex says it's weapon knockback, but it was ability knockback in retail IIRC.

Yeah, the expanding circle that comes from the Mekboy doesn't affect allied units, but there are ten points, each one second delay apart from each other, that do 7 explosive damage and weapon knockback to all targets. No allied stun, though
I'll probably make a graph for it eventually.

Yes, I suppose I worded that incorrectly. What I meant is that it knocks down allied units as well.

Starting up work on some RA wargears now. Also working on a project about bottom tier heroes. More replays and anecdotes incoming.

Tex what do you think of making the Bio plasma shot from the HT also be in an arc. This way the issue with heights can be avoided. The issue with the height difference creates a problem because even if you do manage to get around the long ass delay before the shot but it also don't just hit a 2 ft wall. Maybe it can shoot like a barbed strangler shot. High enough to negate small height levels but nothing like stikkbombs etc.

I have been recommending that for a long time. Same deal for abilities like boom shot and mega boom shot.

Have you ever tried to use it in melee combat? That is a reliable way how to utilize the ability. And I am not talking about situations when your hero is surrounded by melee units but about situations when your hero is close to blobbed melee units that are about to engage him.

Blobbed melee units about to engage a HT uh? Something seem off to you there? No? Okay well how about buying the cheaper and much better option of rending talons?

Is changing the projectile like that feasible? Does it require any animation changes, or is a property that can changed in the editor?

I wish that could be done for all projectiles. (pdev, blastmaster, ...)
The friendly fires and misses due to cover, and mainly stairs, are frustrating as fuck.
Unlike d-cans.

Well... The Plasma Canon when given to the Ancient in campaign can be not only be fired in an arc, but also in rapid succession ^^

one of the reasons I hate elevation change maps..
Stairs like in argus. Sure those are fine...but subtle ones where you cant tell.

I'm not sure if I remember this correctly, but wasn't relic changing things like that in latest stages of retail support? Gotta go whtough official changelogs...
More on-topic:
I think I've seen Improved Camouflage maybe once back then before its rework. Now that it's Sneaky Infiltrashun Kit, does it see any use?

No. It was Elite mod that tried to improve things not hitting terrain, elevations and stuff. Like doombolts, etc.

retail had a couple changes, one of which was to either the pdev or the blast master. i think bio plasma was changed to but what they did was tell them to avoid terrain, not make them ballistic.

Been using the axe of mechanicum lately. Its in a very weird spot. Only way I can make it even remotely useful is to use it as a counter initiation tool. In any other role it is vastly outperformed by the other options. I'm really starting to think that a repair bonus would be a good reason for buying this thing.

Vehicle snare? Some other sort of debuff for smacking machines enslaved by His enemies? Shield granting kb immunity?
