My first post here, thank you so much for the amazing mod !
As far as I understand it is criticized as being a no-brainer capping tool in 3v3 but to be ok in 1v1 and 2v2. Thus it seems the solution would be to remove knock-back immunity so it would keep its functions while allowing to interrupt decaps.
hello and welcome to the forums!
i dont have the Beta patch notes on hand, but as far as im aware, you were spot on with the change. the knockback immunity was being removed. HOWEVER, keep in mind that was a closed beta only available to a few people, and not a public release, it is subject to change per Caeltos's discretion.

Uhh... I honestly don't see a problem with nukes throwing stuff away from the orb. It is a 500 red T3 global compared to an ability that costs like 30 energy. Ofc the wargear costs some resources. If you use a Rocket Run to counter Orb then your opponen is investing a lot more in the engagement than you. Also usually a half of the RR will not wipe squads.
You could make it give weapon kb immunity but not ability kb. So some abilities can knock stuff off the caps.
The kb immunity also helps against eldar in melee fights due to Banshees relying a lot in their special attacks to win fights against other melee units.

I don't approve the choice to remove immunity to any form of KB. Reduce the duration, I think everyone can admit that it is too much. But shimmer orb should be the best tool to capture a point with in the entire game. Make it so it only allows to decapture a point and then it vanishes.
It is annoying to see how you can practically do nothing to prevent that but as I explained before - when some brazen WS captures a point before your nose, you just initiate a furious attack against the army behind him and that will be an unfair fight since -1 hero for their army unless he (the WS) actually decides to abandon his decision to capture and commits to the engagement too. But that already gives you an advantage. It is applicable to any case when you see that someone capturing a point (ATSKNF tactical marines, plague champion with his fist, wraithguard with their healing going, etc).

Don't change something that isn't broken!
The functionality of the wargear is perfectly fine. It works really well in a multitude of different scenarios with its current damage immunity and knockback immunity trait. That said, it lasts WAY too long which makes it too good for capping points.
Just reduce the duration of the effect. It's simple. Why take away everything eldar about it and make it into a shitty chaos-ability that's one-dimensional and dull?

Ok, I think that here I can ask this question.
Scenario:
WSE is caping VP and using Orb to protect himself. ASM jumps into it to prevent him for caping. Fire Prism is shooting throught Orb into ASM (which are inside the Ord) and is throwing them on the ground. Is this wargear protecting everyone inside from knockback/range dmg or just WSE and his allies?

everyone.
but the thing is that ASM dont do enough damage to get the WSE off the cap. so SM and especially IG struggle with the shimmer orb way too much.

No no, my point was, that my ASM were inside Orb, fire prism fired throught it and they fell on the ground. And I remember my reaction - ,,WTF?!" becasue it shouldnt happen.
