I proposed a solid slug shotgun.
No proximity damage. It's basically a bolter with two shot.

Arbites use those.

It doesn't make much sense to throw them into the bag of my intended envision of what they're suppose to be.

Too bad.
Arbites are cool.

So are Reaver Titans. But I like this Sturm Pio rip-off squad they sound pretty nice.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

I have no idea how the FX guts of the game works, but with the firing pattern and the SMG feel being discussed, I think of shootas or the Knobs gun. They have the feel of spamy, sustained shots from autoguns/bolter style weapons. Would be visually distinctive from SS bolters of the IST lasguns.

It's great to see your take on the concept, Caeltos.

Keep up the good work!

A suggestion: should Ops have increased FOTM accuracy? I'm bringing this up because of a number of points:

The inherent fragility of the unit, including the increased ubiquity of detectors in the next patch mean that ops need to really be able to make their ambushes count. Increased FOTM would help ops chase units down. As it stands, a havoc squad should have no problem kiting them until reinforcements arrive (doubly so if they've received the damage reduction from grenade assault).

SMG's traditionally fare well in fire on the move environments.

It fits the composition and unit concept well. If IST's are the long lange burst-kite-burst unit, strikes the versatile jack of all trades, then ops seem to be the highly mobile, strike hard, get out then reposition unit. increased FOTM seem to fill this niche.

Couldn't have done it without the models, which I'm very thankful for.

(Yes, Garrick made the models, so hats off and kudos to him!)

Well, It's nothing more than a judicious use of chop-shopping, but still, thanks, and kudos too the authors of the original pieces!
