Tacts are fine in t1, they fall behind because it's impossible to deal with spiky armor warboss, bc with wargear etc, they were intended to be survivable and they really aren't anymore nor their dps cuts it when it comes to deal with stuff introduced by elite, they fall even more behind because of stuff like fire dragons, which at a fraction of the cost performs better than tacts as a generalist unit in an army that's supposed to be super specialized, or new direct counters like flash gitzs and dark reapers which simply destroy them.

So imo, fucking fix what's broken and don't break what's fine.


Also scouts need to be looked at, they are the shittiest melee counter in the game no joke and at the same time they easily kill ranged squads that should be their counters.

Maybe in pairs or with Sarge, but otherwise I have rarely seen them going toe to toe with ranged squads, and considering other melee counter options (devs for 30 power or ASM for 50) in my opinion they are fine.

Fully upgraded scouts using infiltration easily rekt every T1 ranged squad minus shootas, because they have high dps ad detection, of course it's a fully upgraded scout squad and costs 55 so it should do something, the problem though is that it does basically nothing to melee while it deals with ranged squads pretty handily while it should be the other way around, fully upgraded scouts should be very subsceptible to ranged fire but rekt melee easily.
