Well then. We'd first need a working model. Ask Caeltos/Lulgrim if they'd be ok with the change? Then make a working model :p Or ask the guy that made the VA?
Or a little bit of everything. Make it happen ;)

Been thinking.

What about making either Stormtroopers OR Inquisitorial Stormtroopers colourable?

Other than just their pants I mean.

To give them a bit more diversity and make it less confusing in team game situations.

More of a Question

would it be possible to have Tyrannid towers spawn, facing a random direction?

It looks just a bit odd right now seeing several next to each other, not very organic.

It would be easy to incorporate that stormtrooper skin mod into elite. Aren't inquisitorial stormtroopers getting a new model/head or something pretty soon though.

As for the above medic model, from looking at the warping on the backpack its not been set up to animate properly at all.

I think these minor visual changes are where its at for elite, and also for people who want more unit diversity in the mod, rather than adding more and more units and risking screwing up balance, diverse units should come from having different models depending on what army you pick, as is being started with Legion of the Damned and Alpha Legion chapters.

Another example could be swapping howling banshees for striking scorpions if you pick one of the eldar heroes - same stats and abilities (not strictly fluffy I know, but then that's never been this mods primary concern) but people would get their unit variety without needing to balance a whole new unit.

Think I've got max working again now so will hopefully throw some stuff together over the next month or so, to get an idea of what I'm talking about check my thread over in releases.

Cheers

Cealtos mentioned he maybe wanted a new head model for InquisitorialStormTroopers;

just stumbled over those, just in case.

Nice, where'd you find them?

Not sure if the 1st one looks a bit too Killzoney, but I guess the new portrait has that kind of vibe to it anyway.

Personally I'd go with the head of the 1st and body of the 2nd.

Could the Commissar Lord get a chainsword as a starting weapon?
It could differentiate between the starting and Power Sword.

And while you're at it, is it possible to give him a Bolt pistol for his Flak Jacket?
It just seems to me that a las-pistol shouldn't be able to do that much single-shot damage.

Yes please, why would he upgrade from a non-power-powersword to an actual power-powersword.

This way it would make alot more sense.

Also allways wondered why the CL has a laspistol but the "normal" officer Commissars all have bolt pistols.

There are normal swords in the 40K universe too. I wouldn't mind a chain sword either but that doesn't seem to fit the role of an officer very well.

If anything the LC's on the GM squads should get a bolt pistol. Normal bolter weapons can't be used by normal humans and are actually illegal for them to use.
There are special augmented bolters though for them to use.

Also the reason I think the LG has a bionic arm.
So they could model him with a bolter. ^^

Like other Space Marine weaponry, Astartes Bolters are designed to be handled by their superhuman physique. The weight of each Godwyn Pattern Bolter means that most normal humans cannot handle the weapon comfortably without the aid of a supporting brace and even the weapon's handgrips are too large for a mortal to grasp without assistance. However, even if a mortal were to fire the Bolter, the resulting recoil would most likely rip his or her arm from its socket. It is illegal within the Imperium for a non-Astartes to wield an Astartes Bolter, which is one reason why the weapons are genetically coded so that only a Space Marine can fire them. An Imperial citizen caught in unauthorised possession of a Bolter or even of just a bolt can be harshly sentenced by the Adeptus Arbites. However, some Bolter patterns like the Godwyn-De'az or Locke patterns are specifically built to be wielded by unaugmented humans, and the weapon is sometimes favoured by officers of the Imperial Guard and members of the Adeptus Arbites who require a weapon with more stopping power.

Chain-sword or just a regular sword (would have to be modded in.) sounds interesting, always thought it was a shame that no mono-blades were included in Dawn of War at all, especially for Space Marines as melee weapons and that they gave the ultramarines DLC a unique thunderhammer rather than remodeling the power-sword into an Ultramarines Gladius.

Well, it has a blue glow so I asume his starting weapon is a Powersword.
Removing that glow would ofcourse work equally well, but I'd think replacing it with a Chainsword would be just less of a sturggle.

The Bolt Pistol is a smaller handheld version of the venerable Bolter. Assault Marines in particular favor the Bolt Pistol, frequently using them alongside the Chainsword.
Imperial Guard Commissars and Officers also favor the weapon.

Straight from Lexicanum.

They are rare, sure, but a Lord Commissar could probably get his hands on one

No they can't get their hands on a regular one.

Summarize from above: Illegal to posses a bolter. Firing a bolter will most likely pull your arm out of its socket. If the previous is even possible since the bolters are genetically coded so that only Astartes can fire them. Augmented bolters, specially made for humans are used in higher ranks.

Fluffwar! :p

A LORD Commissar could probably get his hands on a human-sized bolt pistol pretty easily, they're not regular commissars and assuming they have enough experience and recognition within the Imperium, i don't think it would be too difficult for them to pull a few strings to get a bolt-pistol made for a non-astartes human to use to be created/requisitioned for them.

That being said though, I do prefer the inspire terror ability with a laspistol.

Nothing like executing a space marine/chaos space marine clad in terminator armour with what essentially amounts to a light-bulb.

And that's the exact reason I don't like it, with a Bolt Pistol I can at least pretend that he loads a Kraken/Vengeance/Flux Core/Your Boolet of Choice and takes careful aim with it.

... It'd make slightly more sense, but it would still make next to no sense at all.

Terminator Armour is OP. You can shoot a LOT of stuff at it (in lore) and still not deal any real damage to the person inside or his armour, genestealers just cut through it because of some bullshit slip-up in the lore.

Well, if I remember correctly Inspire Terror can't one'shot a Terminator. So yeah, there's that.

Requestion,

How hard would it be to change the colour pattern on Inquisitorial Storm Troopers?

If you want to go with the classic coloursceme your Stormies end up with metallic silver cloth pants-

Simply place some purity seals on their armor. Would be a nice contrast to the black Storm trooper armor.

I am actually very interested in the chainsword idea. If u read the ciaphas cain novels he always turns down a power sword to stick wth his trusty chainsword. It also makes alot more sense that that be his starting weapon. And concerning the bolt pistol in tt and lots of ig books high ranking officers of lieutanant or higher tend to be armed with bolt pistols. A prime example is colonel kasteen from the ciaphas cain novel

Also a good example coming also from the Commissariat is Ibram Gaunt who always carries his bolt pistol with him(although he does prefer power swords)

Does anyone know it its possible to make Tyranid Tower use tem ( team colour ) maps?

I made some in hope we could have capillary towers that actually use the tyranid player's colour, but it seems like the game wont load them.
