ROFL don't even start. Eldritch > Empyreal Abyss at everything. Abyss does almost no damage outside of the center rings and is pretty much negated by pressing x on units that are inside of it since it doesn't pull in or knock back retreating units.
How about you educate yourself before babbling. Abyss DOES do ability knockback on retreating units to pull them in with the chains. Not only that, but any units in the center that have less than 1600 HP are pretty much dead even if you do retreat.

AFAIK, Caeltos modified this and now the chains doesn't affect retreating units.
- Empyreal Abyss delay increased by 1 second
- Empyreal Abyss hooks cannot pull in retreating units
From the changelog.

in retail abyss is incredible bullshit. it's still great about infantry and it still spawns really fast but the fact that you can actually retreat out of it and not always lose full health infantry squads means that i mostly try to avoid talking about it.

Owned. I know my Abyss inside out. It hasn't been doing ability knockback in ages.

i think it still does, just doesn't grab units on retreat. i know it's possible to do that. or at least make weapon_knockback effect units that are normally immune to it.

You might be right about that, since I think I remember hearing something about that in a discussion about dreadnought special attacks. In any case, even if it still technically does ability knockback, I know from my own experience of using the Abyss hundreds of times even after it got nerfed that it does not pull in units on retreat.
