This looks like such a stacked tourney going to be fun to watch.

A stacked tourny? What does that mean?

I assume he means that there are a lot of (good) players, which is true...

Well I assumed that too but the phrase still makes no sense to me. He may as well have said "Oh, this looks like a real shabbadagdibba of a tournament, I can't wait to watch this", I just don't get why stacked would mean competitive etymologically, even for slang.

i believe it's actually something that originates from pancakes, because they're "stacked" they seem more formidable.

Such debate but yes, I meant that there were a lot of good players in the tournament and that

a) the average person has their chances stacked against them winning

and

b) there's a huge bunch of good players.

"a stacked tournament" is a pretty common phrase

maybe it originates from poker, idk.

Stacked if it favoured a particular party, given the high proportion of high-level players in this tourny it (fortune) clearly doesn't stack in the favour of any specific small party though. It was like Atlas was trying to say this will be good, because it will be competitive and high level but in attempting to do so ended up saying damn, if you're a noob you best not enter this, which is hardly getting the same point across.

I'm being pedantic again.

It's a certain competative side compared to another that usually has a skill or overwhelming number stack. A bit strange to call this stacked :D. Because there are no teams

*EDIT* And yeah would be nice to know who we are up against? ;)
