Re: Suggestion: Make Whirlwind into a Razorback upgrade
while the whirlwind topic is up, one this needs to be addressed. The missile, it's terrible. It's terrible because it needs to be within direct line of sight on even terrain, basically going against everything the whirlwind is for. Is there any way to make this a more global thing, it looks stupid to see an artillery tank driving at the enemy so it can use a single missile

I think the Hunter Killer Missle is "great" ( for what it is ) -
yeah, the WW's turret turns paaainfully slow to target the enemy vehicle and everything, but the range is great, and once you target a vehicle the missle is going to hit, even if it allready is out of sight, or even range. Its really nice to finish off damaged walkers and transports limping away.

+1
I'm pretty sure the WW itself turns faster than the turret, so I guess you could manually turn WW, and then fire the missile. Nonetheless, I don't understand why the turret rotation has to be that slow.

Re: Suggestion: Make Whirlwind into a Razorback upgrade
There is no need to move the WW into T3. I still think making it a T2 upgrade to RB (as was my original suggestion) would work best.
As for other LR variants...yeah, some of them would be really nice, Helios among them
. But no other super units in Retribution is upgradeable, so i don't expect any upgrades for LRR.
On the other hand, Chaos has two super units, one for tanky support and one for high DPS. So it would seem like a LRR upgrade to something less supporty and more damage oriented shouldn't be competely ruled out. But it looks like Chaos is special, so I don't expect similar treatment is given to any other race, SM or otherwise.

To be honest, notion of "super unit" in DoW2 is completely arbitrary and means nothing.

Please elaborate?
ALWAYS ANGRY!! ALL THE TIME!!
Re: Suggestion: Make Whirlwind into a Razorback upgrade
Well the baneblade, GUO, LRR, LRP, LRC, avatar and BW are all super-units but they all do tremendously different things for your army and require tremendously different things to counter.
Lets make Ordo Malleus great again!

There's nothing about them that fundamentally sets them apart from... anything else really. Cap of one on them is probably closest thing but it isn't limited to what we call "super units". They don't have any common mechanics that would paint them as a category distinctive from the rest of units in the game, they do (and mean) very different things if you compare them to each other.
The only reason we call them that is because they are "those T3 fatties with exorbitant upfront cost and build time". And considering that "normal" units have upgrades, cost and build time of "super" units aren't suddenly such out of whack.
Just a lategame choice, ideally no worse and no better than the rest of T3 strategies, there's nothing special about getting them for your army over *insert T3 composition here*.
Why am I posting this? Well, I see no reason to call Chaos special just because they have multiple T3 choices that look like a moving landscape feature.

You could argue a super unit is one that cant level.
Re: Suggestion: Make Whirlwind into a Razorback upgrade
The super units might be imprecisely defined but everybody knows what is meant by them anyway...
They could be very loosely divided into two groups - close range support oriented (avatar, LRC, ...) or long range damage oriented (bblade, LRP). Every race could pick just one...every race except Chaos, which could choose from both options depending on need and current army composition (while still having plethora of other T3 options).
The "no level" definiton brings termies into the mix, which I don't know if it's for the best.
