Yep its on the schedule, just wanted to draw the more pressing unit portraits first.
I plan to draw the FC + the Termi-FC portraits in one go, since both have their respectable issues why they need changes

All this time I had been enjoying the hell out of Elite Mods sweet new unit portraits without knowing it was just one guy doing it pro bono.

You're a champ. I play IG mostly, and I've loved your new portraits for the GM squad in particular.

Guys, I got hired by a game studio *-* Ok, its a small company, doing a bit different what I normally do (hidden object, puzzle, mystery), but damn! ^^
Got the first step in the door Thats why I was so quiet in the last month btw ^^; Was doing test-work for them and some other companies =)

Congratulations Kilgarn, I wish you the best. Once you can spill the beans (Reveal who, or what you're working at) do so, I'd love to see your work in that game. However, respect your contract first and foremost, and if you're not eligble to say anything, don't do so. Best to stay in good terms and all that jazz.

They are doing some nice stuff =) Mainly working for the US market, even their publisher is amercian (Bigfish), although they are based in Hungary where I live ^^

As of what the heck I'll be doing... not sure Got hired for a new game they will be doing, but even I dont know the details x)
About what you can expect, well I wont be doing only 1 thing actually =) From what I understand, my job will be to work on several aspects at a given time, like lineart, sketches, zoom-ins, a part of the pic, etc.

To give a simple example:
This was my test art. I got this basic 3D render, pulled out of the game:


Now, my test was to breathe life in it and how much I can make it tell a story or something. Basically I could used what I wanted as long as it fits into the picture (this was a zoom-in as well). Well... I really enjoyed it actually ^^ Bit different to what I usually do =)



Anyways, if you want to check out their games, go ahead =) My first task was to try the demo of the game to have a basic feel and idea It was quite enjoyable ^^ Usually I dont play games like this, but its quite nice =)

How the heck do you do this stuff? It's just mind bogglingly fantastic, do you have magic fingers?

Its nothing that fancy actually =) Its a mix of photoes and paint + paintover + color adjustment ^^ And I used really saturated colors as you can see

That last picture is flipping amazing. It reminds me of the art I saw in the recent rayman games. Good job man.

I'm guessing then that the last 2 IG portraits are on hold indefinitely?

On that note: should I make the Iron Warrior in the same resolution...? Its also just 300x300 (although increasing size is rather simple ^^;)

Uhm... need some info about the Acolytes mate Last time it wasn't necessry to do a portrait for them, so there was no description
They were floating around the time I did the Catachan portraits =)
So info and some screenshots would be more then welcome ^^

The thing is, I was hoping we'd get a Crusader model up & running + animations coupled with him. But the Warrior Acolyte can function as a placeholder until that becomes a reality. However, I don't expect the Crusader model to ever get 100% finished, so I'm more comfortable with this as a subsitute.

They are more or less students of a Inquisitior, and will eventually become fully fledged Inquisitors if deemed worthy, or if they survive. They're working as personal bodyguards of the Inquisitior or do his/her bidding. They're essentially the embodiement of an Inquisitior, they just lack the experience in combat, but they're more or less fanatics.
