Look harder then. His melee builds are plenty viable.

As an aside, I've played apo quite a lot just in 2 and 3 and the only thing that strikes me as over performing is the vials, with their super low energy cost, fast cool down, and cheap price, they are kinda nuts. A cool down increase or price increase should probably be considered.

If you're using him in team games then yes a melee apo is much harder to pull off because he's a giant fire magnet for double shootas/double dire avengers/whatever.

Melee builds for apo are pretty cheeky, often combining sanguine chainsword with purification vials or other area denial wargear to make for a nice anti-melee apo that can bleed enemy melee squads.

Yeah but that's what I'm saying.. he does it better with the bolter because he gets an excellent ability as well as keeping him out of the line of fire. Fir a melee build you aren't going to charge out at anyone because he will be almost dead by the time he closes the gap from ranged fire so you need asm to disrupt, and then there's another 450/50... It's just too expensive

Well Noisy seems to do quite well with his melee apo in 3v3s and 2v2s and it seems to work just fine. Though I still think that reducing the heal aura radius and increasing heal cd were unnecessary nerfs. I have not seen Noisy's 1v1 apo play but I imagine it not being easy to play against.

Sanguine does so much work vs chaos/orks it's atrocious.

No. See above.

The Apothecary in Elite is more combat-orientated. He's not just a nurse any more, although you can play him as one if you want.

It pretty much looks like he walked over you with scouts, then spammed tanks because you never got a hard counter. The apo sat in the back and babysat until everything else had been countered, then ran forward. Either that our had you turned on him with everything he would have died quite fast.

That game was far more sm beating chaos than anything else. Both other sm heroes would have done better. Also showcases why I dislike 1v1s because he won by spamming scouts and capping. I prefer fighting myself

all I know is that grey knights have a bitch of a time trying to counter this.

if you get nade launchers on storms, you lose pretty much all your ability to focus fire the wb down. and heaven forbid if you miss a grenade barrage, that's pretty much a lost engagement right there. even if you do hit flush, the warboss will most likely be able to tank the damage

if you get purgs, their range is so measily that the wb will be right on top of them by the time they suppress him.

if you get interceptors, painboy + bangbang hammer will be knocking out interceptors left and right.

I guess I could try trollkiting with a rhino and ist squads pew pewing away.

Warboss vs GK is a broken matchup right now, you're right.

Your best hope is to get triple storms (no strike squad) and focus down the warboss.

Then, pray to the emperor that he doesn't get a painboy. If he does, just concede, it will be less painful that way.

Wow. Just no on every level. From this and some of your other posts, you really must be new here.

That game is a showcase for the field presence a well-played Apo lets you maintain, and why Sanguine Chainsword scales into the lategame.

maybe he doesn't know the game is balanced on a 1v1 level.
