The Slaaneshi hero and the Eversor are in program.

A 4th IG commander, from the ranks of the Adeptus Mechanicus.

An adept of the Machine God sent by the Martian priesthood to aid the Imperial guard in enforcing the will of the Omnissiah. A red cloaked mysterious figure whose augmetics provide it superhuman traits. For to gaze below the red hood of the priest means to behold a terrifying sight of a mechanical monstrosity willingly devoid of it's humanity. While the ordinary guardsman might shirk from this sight, the techpriest is fulfilling his sacred quest for perfection in the light of the Deus Mechanicus.

It would be a unique hero which would revolve around switching between melee and ranged mode on demand and be very energy managment dependent since he is afterall more machine than man.
It would start initially with a 1h Chain axe and shoulder mounted Hellgun.
The hero could become very tanky meele or specialize for ranged damage through wargear purchases which would revolve around personal bionics, mechadendrites, servo-arms, servitor squad members and high tech weaponry.

Suggested abilities:

1. - Power to bionics (Melee mode) / Power to weapon systems (Shoulder mounted ranged weaponry)

- Power to bionics - increased health regeneration while lowering energy regeneration + weapon dmg and skill
- Power to weapon systems - increased energy regeneration while lowering health regeneration + weapon dmg and range

Changing between modes would require a short "setup" time. Selecting either of these abilities would give flat bonuses to melee damage/skill or ranged damage/range so if you entered into melee with a ranged mode techpriest he would do minimal damage and proc no special attacks for example.

2. - Construct bolter turret ability like the TM/PC/Mek.

Other abilities would be tied to wargear used.

Suggested wargear:

I. row - T1 Electro mechadendrites: autonomous weapons which would attack random enemy targets in a small radius around the techpriest having a chance to shortly stun enemies with their electrical discharge. Unlocks ability to perform a sweep with the mechadendrites knocking down enemies around the techpriest.

I. row - T1 Battle servitors: 2 battle servitor bodyguards armed with an laspistol and 1 handed weapon which would increase the increase the techpriests primarily melee damage and health, the servitors would not have any special attacks. Does not take up a wargear slot simillar to the Lord generals entourage, costs req to reinforce anywhere on the field and the techpriests is immobile while reinforcing.

I. row - T2 Axe of the Omnissiah: 2h Power axe with an large radius aoe special attack and granting a melee charge.

I. row - T3 Skitarii huscarls: replaces the servitors (if present) with 2 skitarii bodyguards armed with plasma guns and chain axes increasing the techpriests overall damage and health, the skitarii would have a special attack. Does not take up a wargear slot simillar to the Lord generals entourage, costs req and power to reinforce anywhere on the field and the techpriests is immobile while reinforcing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

II. row - T1 Personal void shield generator: Advanced energy to health shield.

II. row - T2 Rites of pure thought: Purges the techpriests mind of primal instincts and base emotions such as fear, pride, hope etc. making the techpriest immune to suppression, demoralization and inspiration effects while increasing energy and energy regeneration.

II. row - T3 Deus Mechanicus: Equips the techpriest in ceramite body armor greatly increasing health and making the techpriest unshakeable. Changes armor to super heavy inf. De facto terminator.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

III. row - T1 Servo-arm: Shoulder mounted mentally controlled servo arm which would increase the Techpriests health. Unlocks Soothe Machine spirit ability, an improved repair which costs energy per second.

III. row - T2 Twin linked ranged weaponry: basically doubles the firepower of the techpriest. Unlocks ability focus fire which after a short setup time during which the techpriest locks on to the target and recites the littanies to the Omnissiah he becomes immobile and unshakeable while shooting both his shoulder mounted weapons on 1 enemy with inreased precision and lower weapon cooldown while burning large amounts of energy every second.

III. row - T3 Graviton gun - Blessed be the Machine God for unleashing this powerful weapon to it's servant. All round weapon which also slows down any squad/vehicle while dealing continuous damage (flat or %of health dmg). Short range and setup time to compensate.

Yes please, Tau way before any other race, they will be awesome for the game.

What matters is what assets are available. At the moment, it seems that models for Dark Eldar are being made, and Tau is not a finished race model wise, though it may be close. In addition, no one is making Tau models, so that puts them out of the running for now.

Was the idea for the 4th IG commander to be the Psyker?

I think it was, but the priority is a little low I think.

I would be interested on having DE and Tau as a new race, although new commanders would be great too (especially for GK ofc).

As far as the bike-discussion goes, I just think this isn't the right game for them. As much as I love Reaver Jetbikes, they don't fit in Dawn of War.

Ya no, that was my idea! :D It was supposed to be a sub-commander but everyone thought it would be best as a commander instead!

An IG counter vs sm devs and eldar wraith-guard.
Ia they have some units that can help them but it requires a lot of micro for them to work.
It just isnt all that fair to struggle vs them and get squad vipes for slipping a bit and going by accident to close to the wraith-guard with stormtroopers.
I mean u really dont need a lot of skill to spread devs or give an atk order to ur wraith-guard!

The introduction of the Dreadknight, Acolyte and Eversor seems to be the next step when/if they are completed.

Ya revise vengeance rounds dev with librarian support. Just make the dev retain their set up time when under veil of time or at the very least make it half the time time. Its just fking annoying to have ur shit raped by those speedy bastards!

veng rounds on devs only last 20 seconds.. and devs die horribly easy and fast to melee squads, and they can still be supressed or KBed under veil of time, and that's 2 squads with upgrades with a total price of what? 360/60 + 50/30 +250/30 + 75?

wraith guard is just one squad of 450/50 with 666 hp per unshakable model that can counter vehicles, garrisons, blobs, static units, turrets, setup squads? that now can also be garrisoned and/or transported?

Oh yeah...

Both the WG and Devs are fine.

Well, WGs shouldn't be able to hop in buldings/gates/transports.

Considering the heavy investment, I think VG Devs under Veil of Time should be performing the way they are now.

I also don't think they should suppress. Their damage is more than enough, imagine if pdevs would suppress as well every time they hit their target

Pdevs have the longest range out of all infantry artillery, WG is quite short, although with guide it can catch off guard alot of people, also they have a slow fire rate and they still require attack ground to hit moving targets.

Pdev is 70 range, D-Cannon is 82 range

Wraithguard wield Wraithcannons, which are substantially shorter ranged.

D-Cannon is exclusive to the T3 setup team.

Would be interesting to have D-Scythes available for the wraithguard. Eldar don't have any flamers and the best options I see are either those or a flamer-upgrade to replace the shuriken catapult on the wraithlord.

There is the alternative of a flamer/melta mode switch on fire dragons.

Oh right, completely forgot them!

The Exarch could have a flamer-option, maybe as an upgrade or as a standard weapon?

Sorry for the necro-bump, but I could not find any similiar threads and these ideas might not deserve threads of their own.

-GK dread grenade launchers as purchase add-ons for SM dreads?
-GK dread can purchase Dark Age of Tech?
-Purchasable upgrade (eg like Dark age of Tech) to give GK dread charge ability (similar to Vendread)?

Nobody remember that the Fire Dragon Exarch can have a Flamer because nobody ever use it in TableTop.
Literally nobody.

There's a zombie-ruleset for 40k where you had to make a squad combining models from any units. MWG did one with 75 points, and I thought it was a pretty good place for a FD-Exarch with Dragon's Breath (The Eldar-squad there had a Death Jester instead, but he did pretty well).

Anyway. Now that I think about it, I don't think Fire Dragons should be given that in Elite (although I would love to see a firepike, since it is pretty tough to even tell the exarch apart). Having 1 flamer and 4 meltas in one unit is a bit confusing. Should be better served for wraithguard or the wraithlord.

Ooh ooh, do Terran or Zerg, you'd only have to change the SM or Tyranid models slightly.

Before people get mad, I'm jk btw....
