Hey people,

I ain't sure if this is the right forum for something like this but knowing we all are really freaks for the video game I thought someone might be interested in starting a Rollplay Dark Heresy campaign? I think we would need about 4 players and a GM (cause I ain't good at storytelling). If you are interested write in this post or send me a PM. Regarding the time Zone. I'm based in EU so players from there would be good so if we do in fact get a group together we don't run into the problem of people having to work when the rest of the group would like to play. Skype and basic lore about the DOW Universe would not hurt as well.

I would love to, just depends on other people letting me be around and my blasted internet sometimes. I will also have to verse myself in the rules.

I can help with the rules, that shouldent be such a problem. Bad I-Net would suck though. If it holds up for Skype calls I think you are okay.

It does, it just doesn't with so many people using it. Depends where I am, so half of the time it is acceptable, the other half of the time I have internet that is a no go area from around 3:30pm GMT onwards :/

I wouldn't hold you up, if you get players and I cannot be around for sessions, count me out.

Was "rollplay" a typo or intended?

Oh quite intended, it doesn't mean actually dressing up and all, but rollplay is what is is called. RPG if you want the abbreviation.

Dark Heresy 2 is right around the corner, might be an idea to wait for that.

Dark Heresy generally is a very simple RPG; all rolls are made with a d100 or d10, no super special attacks or abilities (other than for psykers who have some) and very simple combat. The setting can also be whatever you want to make it and transitioning to/stealing things from Rouge Trader or Only War is easy as they are very similiar (harder to do with deathwatch since the power level there is insane compartively)

Currently GM'ing a game that will transition into a Rouge Trader game and possibly Deatwatch/only war if it runs long enough. I've only GM'd for about a year but I've been roleplaying for almost 5 so if anyone have any questions I would love to help out.

I would actually prefer this since DH2 is closer to Black Crusade/Only War and I like those systems much more.

Well I don't want to wait for DH2. Who knows when its gonna come out? But thats up to one self to decide. @RagingJenni if you are interested we could usea DM who know's his stuff?

Sorry, I already run a group and two groups is a really big commitment, esp if it's a new group and doing it over the internet.

For anyone interested I'd say definitely try this; RPGs are super fun especially when you're just starting. I dont know anyone who started in a group and didn't have a great time learning the ropes, and some of my fondest high school memories are of me and a group of friends playing RPGs and bullshitting the time away.^^

Btw there are published adventures if any of you wish to try your hand at GM'ing. The one at the back of the core rulebook (Illumination) is a decent one, and it's a good crutch for anyone who just wants a try at being GM'ing.

Well, as far as I know, term "rollplay" is often used as derogatory for a playstyle when people can't care less about creating an actual character and mostly interested in rolling dice and comparing numbers. Simply not playing LARP isn't quite what people call "rollplay"

On a side note, by coincidence, my friends here started to plan out a Black Crusade campaign just recently.

I'm kind of interested, but I have a US timezone, have never played a roleplay game like this ever before and generally don't know how reliably I can actually be on :/

Small update: We have the group together so sorry to anybody who still would still be interested but more then 4 people would be more then is possible. All we need now is a GM (they are apparently the hardest to find thing on this planet) so is anyone knows one that would like to GM another group please direct him our way.
