Problem with 2.9.8.1 installation

Hello,
I recently started to play Elite mod again and I discovered that there was a new patch, so I uninstalled my old version and downloaded the 2.9.8.1 on the forum's page.
After installation my game is still on the 2.4 version....
Don't really know where is the problem, if someone can help that would be great.
