Dawn of War Codex

Hi guys,

Ive only had Elite since 2.2 maybe 2.1 I think, so I'm pretty new to it. Also new to these forums (created an account today, but been lurking for around a month. With all that in mind, please excuse me if this question has been answered before or I answer it myself:

I've noticed that other mods exist for this game, mainly ones that were last update in 2013, and one I recently found claimed to have Tau in it, and a very basic-looking necron race. But besides that, they also had some nice models in their, such as IronClads and a Black Templar Sternguard: http://www.moddb.com/mods/destroyer-40k-mod/images

I was just wondering, as to why we don't see some of these models in Elite? I appreciate the fact that the owners of them may not want o contribute to elite, and that various technical issues would take place when implementing the,(not to mention balance issues), but like I said, Im just curious for an official reason why we haven't seen Ironclads stomping around (yet?).

(I'd also be more than happy to test an Iron clad in a beta haha.. you know.. for the chain fist.. ahem. balance reasons.)

I cannot answer for anyone, but I think the general consensus is that the Tau in Destroyer (Which are just a reskin of IG) are very poorly made and not what we want to see on Dawn of War at the moment with the models being how they are.

Necrons are in their really early stages, so not sure what to make of them.

The things like Sternguard for Black Templars is they are likely not in because ELITE has its own Black Templars scheme compiled from various others.

And about Ironclads, we are going into new unit territory. You don't want to see the flame war that causes...
