ideas for new commanders?

im interested what peoples ideas would be for any new commanders in the game. only limits i would say is that it would have to be a commander for one of the existing factions in the game. ideas can be serious, creative, lore accurate or just plain silly.

let your imagination run wild!
would live to see what people come up with

personally one commander that i always think of when someone says "annoying commander" is some kind of WSE that starts with fleshhook, flesh over steel, subjugate AND the normal WSE abilities. has spiky armor that does 100 explosive_pvp dps to any melee attacekers, at all times and has a 50% of chance of instantly killing units that shoot at him, oh and he also has vehicle armor and has a 10% chance of farting out 2 squads of allied, fully upgraded lvl 4 nob squads. i think this would be perfectly balanced, dont you? he would be called the "Warp 'Fuck you' Spider Exarch Alpha Commander Tyrant Lord Boss"

i guess, but as it was Elite mod related i figured it belonged in general discussion. a lot of the things i see in random shit aren't even slightly related to DOW so i would probably not get quite so many people involved in this thread.

The Sound Bug.

Tyranid obviously, it's a bug after all.

1 ability: Shit I have sound bug. Makes opponents write: "Shit I have sound bug", often followed by "Sorry guys" and/or "Fucks sake".

Causes opponents game to crash after about a minute and so you win, assuming you can beat an AI.

Just need Sterling to make us a model and Kilgarn a portrait for the ability and we're good to go. There's a 4th commander slot for a reason.

Space Marines: Chaplain
Morale support. Abilities that allow allies to break suppression or increase melee skill temporaly.

Chaos Space Marines: Dark Apostle
Support spells to increase unit's suppresion resistance. Can adore like heretics. Good sinergy with daemons.

Astra Militarum (former Imperial Guard): Primaris Psyker
Attack psyker, like Inquistor, but with abilities more aimed to direct damage than support, confuse or stunning.

Tyranids: Tyranid Prime / Genestealer Broodlord
Light mobile synaptic creature, faster and more easy to cover than Tyrant, but not as good in melee. Works as a Warrior synapse so Tyranid armies that include this one don't depend on Warriors so much.

Eldar: Dire Avenger Exarch
Ranged fire and support. Like the Warp Spider Exarch but without teleportation and with abilities that reduce damage to allied eldars and increase their ranged precision amongst others.

Orks: Stormboss
A Warboss with jump pack. With abilities aimed to deal damage to single objectives instead of cleansing around like the warboss, but less effective in melee in exchage of an obviously higher mobility.

Grey Knights: Ordo Malleus Inquisitor
Support psyker, with abilities to stun daemons or teleport allied units to his location.

whats this? someone being serious about the question on this thread. HERESY!

those are some pretty neat ideas, i've always toyed with the idea of a stormnob commander, as there is one in the campaign.

Don't forget the 2v3 Lobby Hero, which in team games forces a player on the other team to join your team for the duration of the match. Extra lulz if it's the middle player on an Argus Map.

I also would like the referee hero... So that I could actually talk to ppl in the game chat. It could also have the ability to kick ppl from games... To make the hero balanced.

Since Grey Knights have only one hero maybe expanding them would be good. I know they have librarians as a character/unit already, but they seem like a unit that would be appropriate (they are HQ in the tabletop). Techmarines are already available to vanilla marines, so I guess that would make sense but not in a game dynamics-oriented way. Brotherhood champions could be a commander for Grey knights - in tabletop they are just the cheaper alternative to a Brother-Captain, but maybe could be engineered in such a way that they are a less beefy but faster and more single combat-oriented alternative (anyone who played DOTA for warcraft 3 could think of agility vs strength heroes as a comparison).

Think it was mentioned there was going to be a Lord Inquisitor and Eversor Assassin for GK heroes but my memory is a bit fuzzy on this.

I actually think it's OK for Grey Knights to be a "special" SM. I even like how during the game loadscreen you can't tell it's going to be a GK.

Something comparable would be if (when?) Dark Eldar gets introduced, the Archon would be a 4th commander for Eldar, like how the Brother Captain is for SM.

Grey Knights are being worked upon and the subsequent commanders and individual faction place shall be introduced in full time.
