It really excites me to learn that the methods for adding new voice lines have been figured out.

If it means getting the GK (among other new units) their own voices at last then I'll gladly purchase a high quality microphone and some professional sound software myself. I'll gladly collaborate with you people on the scripts myself, having done so on a DoW I machima project from back in the day.

Every grunt, every battlecry, every conditional statement must be filled in the name of the Emperor!

Who do I need to message?
How would he prefer to be contacted?
What would I need? Hardware and software wise?
Where can I find documentation on the technique?
When could we start?

Who else would want to participate?

Due to my inexperience when it comes to this technique in general, I'm afraid I have nothing to chip in on it. As far as who to contact, or responsibilities - I'm usually just the middle-man that provides the actual coders/modders to chip in with the files I recieve.

I also don't explicitiy don't like to tell what the voice-lines should be, I'd rather much leave there to be room for creativity and let the voice-actor do his own thing (assuming he has some general experience and knowledge/fluff or well a sweet interpretation of what X or Y would say)

Community Threads are otherwise a viable option to look through to see if you need some insight on the matter.

Over the next few days I make some project proposals. Among them, a document that lists all our unit needs, and a context map for creating new scripts. If we can understand DoWII's voice architecture thoroughly, we can produce quality voice lines that are on par with the vocal standards of DoW.

I want to see every new unit his due justice. I don't want it to sound amateur. But who among the DoWII Community should I get familiar with?

You can always talk to Jazz Sandwich, he has done some lines before. I've been entertaining this idea for a while, the voice lines, but I'd need a good mic and good location to record. Also of course there are so many people who would love to do it cherry picking who can do it well might be a challenge.

IIRC this guy provides voice files for DoW modding. You can ask him for help and the permission to use his GK voice lines. They aren't recorded yet so you may help him out.
