Calling all Streamers

I've noticed recently a fair few people streaming more often which is good, some have more watching than others. I know this might be due to personal preference but I think there are some that stream that people don't know about. My suggestion is all those that stream, regardless of how often reply with there twitch names so people can add them and increase views maybe.
I suggest only streamers post so it becomes a list of possible streams.l and easy to find. I'll certainly follow any I don't already

Just so you know Magik, whilst it is a nice idea, more streamers are nice, I am not giving mod rights to anyone for some time, there are too many streamers and every time an event goes up four or five people leave the group. We lose people to the massive number of events we churn out.

Forgive me if I am being dumb here but I don't get your comment. How do people choosing to follow people on twitch have anything to do with mods in the group?
My idea is based around the fact that I go on twitch looking for people streaming and it is easier to see if I am follow them. If I knew who streamed I could follow them so when I check twitch I can see them.
There are people that stream without putting it on the group. Some people may not know about these people. I can't see how people doing this would effect anything. But as I said I'm happy to admit I may be missing something

Because group mods were promoted to mods so they could announce their streams on Steam. I know you aren't implying that every streamer who posts should be a mod, but in case a load of new people come in and expect to be given mod rights.

the group has about 6k people. how many can you honestly say still play ELITE? after reading some of the comment and discussions on the steam groups, it seems that these people are simply either too lazy to close their announcements, or they tolerate it to a level of them just complaining about it and not actually directly contacting an admin such as yourself. if they really wanted the event spam to stop, they'd directly contact you and give you an official complaint.
thats besides the point however. yea the amount of events we churn out may be a bit over the top, but i try to minimise my announcements to only one per day at maximum. while we loose people on the steam group due to spam they still know about ELITE, and i get atleast 2-5 people come by my stream asking what ELITE is. so it either balances out or brings new people in.
im not one to say no to new streamers as it brings new people in and offers entertainment.

I never said streaming was a bad thing, I just think that people are too trigger happy on the events sometimes. And yes, I was given as much of an official complaint as can be official, that thread on the discussion.

well okay then. and i never said streaming was a bad thing either ;/
i was saying that, most of the people who are leaving the group likely dont even play ELITE anymore, and even if they do leave the group then they still know about ELITE, they can still play it and tell their friends. so we dont technically loose anyone. streaming on the other hand always brings in new people.

What would be a nice idea is if the stream links are posted for the homepage for Elite next to Forum perhaps (or similar) small bio, follower count, last streamed, name, sexiness levels, etc

You'll have to ask Indrid or Nurland or the other sex gods around here for that. Would be very nice.

Hey, I saw there are still many people playing the retail version.
Streamers should try to promote this mod to the other players and have them join us.
At the moment I think there are more players that play the retail version which is sad to see.

well thats the idea of the stream for the most part, on top of being entertainment. unfortunately yes more people play retail, but some streamers wont change the retail being the most popular unfortunately.

Our resident Ven actually pulls in a decent number of people, but the problem is that the really heavy retail guys don't like Elite because their broken builds don't work.

Just saying I crusade through retail regularly in both 1v1 and 3v3 ranked. If I ever find good competition it suggests they are somewhat concerned about the game and maybe think about it (otherwise they'de get wrecked) and so I tell them to get a grip and get over to elite to find moar proper competition.
Swift's point is too true though. The one's who not quite really good, but better than average solely because they know exactly how to abuse the OP shit in retail the best way possible, are generally too stubborn to leave retail because doing so would make them far far far worse at the game and they don't care about skill, or getting better, they just care about winning. Which itself makes no sense since the game lacks reliable statistics/leaderboards :L
