1000 hours equals you dont get kicked out of games

My first post is one i have been meaning to do for a long time.
Ive been playing according to steam, for 40 hours now, half of them on the elite mod. well before buying the game I watched a lot (a really frigging lot) of indrid casts and read the forums enough to know there IS some depth to the game.
Sadly, the community at large that plays the game is mind numbingly toxic, (considering I come from the dota 2 community, this is saying something)
heres just a pic example
http://i.imgur.com/LtW88OC.png8 out of 10 games I get kicked out because of my low army level and low amount of hours. which begs the question. How am I supposed to play then?
As for actual skill level, the games I do play, I win half lose half and either way, games are very very close, Playing SC 1 and 2 for years and a lot of reading have given me a lot of tools to play with
The actual reason of this rant is to know if there are groups of play for me to stick with to play and learn, or if its going to be this way for the next 960 hours

I can vouch for Andy. He might have low hours, but he plays like someone with at least a few hundred.
Edit: And you can feel free to add me if you'd like. I'd say we're about the same skill level wise. I might know this game better but your micro is better than mine.

Well I admit that I do get frustrated when people don't know the basics (my favourite is when people buy their commander when I took the time and effort to cross the other side of the map to resurrect them). Hours played and army level are some of the simplest (though not always fairest) ways to judge player skill.
That said, I understand the trap of "I can't get games because I don't have hours played because I can't get games because I don't have hours played..."
A recommendation then:
Host your own games. That way, you're the boss. Teammates don't like you? Well they can make their own game. Start off by hosting beginner's lobbies, then move on to beginner's - mid lobbies and proceed from there. The community is a small one, so you'll find names you regularly play with quite quickly. Once you've SHOWN THEM YOUR METTLE, they'll be more prone to vouch for your abilities in no time, much like Surprise Attack.
P.S. And dammit Ven, all your games are private anyway, why host them on public lobbies

because invites don't work half the time which makes private lobbies unusable

+1
actual private lobbys are just for bot matches these days due to relic fucking up and making it so that invites only work 50% of the time.
as for you Andy, i feel your pain, and im pretty sure everyone has at some point, i know i have in the past. everyone has to start somewhere unfortunately.
i'd recommend hosting your own lobbys, so that you dont get kicked, if someone leaves because of the hosts playtime, then thats their choice, but most people will stick around.
most people just want players who have evidence that they're atleast experienced. so army levels or playtime is the most readily available evidence of a players skill, its never accurate, but its the best we've got. you might be the best player ever, but if you have low playtime/army lvl you'll run in to this, as its the best way to tell someones skill. thats just how it is unfortunately.
also, another way to stop people from kicking you might be to make your steam profile private so they cant see your hours played. this shouldn't be needed though.

Because Ven is too pro to play with randoms anymore.
Remember, there is always Ryan's group of bubs (currently at 500+ members)
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/DoW2_Elite_BeginnersMake noob lobbies, make friends with Noobs, I can always announce your games and people can join them.

sorry for the people that don't give you a chance brother. there will always be douchebags but the best advice has already been mentioned. Host your own games and title them "noobie..."
in the mean time add me ill team up with you. If you have a different name on steam than from this please mention that!

I understand your post was probably written in frustration but I dont think you have helped your cause. It pretty inflammatory basically slagging everyone off.
In general I have found the community very supportive. I joined a year ago and my skill level is mid level as best. I had only ever played COD on XBOXlive as an online game and coming to DoW was fearful for me as I worried about how bad I would be. I remember some of the really experienced players actually offering to play or wwatch games to offer support
However when I told people in lobbies that I was pretty new they either said, cool no worries or sorry dude we'd rather not. In that case just accepted it as its their choice. Remember most people and we are talking 99% of those sub 100 hours are generally pretty poor while they get up to speed and can really make the game no fun for the other member on their team and the opposition as they are like hmm that was easy.
I think this forum has shown that there are plenty of people that will play with newer players and if you are pretty good youll be known pretty quick and wont have this problem. As others have suggested, join the noob group and get noob games, make noob friends, host your own lobbies. If yo udont wanna play noobs label them as mid level games and they will soon fill up.
As for your photo, would you like me to wait around and find a picture that has only noob games on and compain theres no games for mid level players?
Regardless of the fact that I am mind numingly toxic feel free to add me on steam (showmemagik) and I will happily play with you like I would guess most of the commmunity would

Do note that in my post I mention, The community THAT PLAY THE GAME, is at LARGE, toxic. Not those in the forums, the people so far in the forums are all champs and I got no ill will, but within the game things are pretty toxic, but hey this post has given me lots of friends to play with and lose with so its all good

Hm sorry to hear this. 90percent of the time i make private lobbies clearly labeling them PRIVATE 3V3 as i often get people i know to play with me. However i sometimes make 1v1s and label 1v1 for fun or simply put all welcome. I think if u make your own lobby and make a clear headline u should enjoy it more tbh.

One thing to bear in mind, 1000 hours is an obvious cut off, but if you make yourself known enough, you don't need 1000 just to join a lobby. I used to find people were apprehensive about me joining, but now I notice lots of people will tolerate me if I join a lobby, I might drag them down, but the more people who know you, the easier it is.

People who kick players because of game stats deserve to be sacrificed for the Astronomicon.
The only noobs who get on my nerves are the idiots who jump into Ranked games, and thanks to Relic's awesome matchmaking end up on my team, spamming guardsmen against vehicles and dying in droves.

I never played retail ranked but I suggest you use a premade team for ranked always.

Over the weekend I managed to observe a few games, and during the course of waiting for a 6th player I was asked to step up and participate. I let them know I had <100hours but I also had balls and they let me in.
Needless to say I got carried but I enjoyed it immensely and learned a great deal about my Eldar play. After the game I was even asked to return and play in the next 3v3.
Maybe I just found the right players at the right time but I think if as long as your attitude is correct and you have the basics down it won't be hard to find people to play with.
Of course, the next day I got into another 3v3 and was met with zero communication during the match aside from negative comments from my teammates.

Yeah, it happens. You should add people who you enjoy playing with, then you can play again and get better and have more fun playing.
