Yeh I think advanced sub selection with tab is much more useful than the standard one, allows you to use abilities with a blob without deselecting evrything

The Tab key is one of the most integral parts to handling your army. It's one of my favourite parts of this game since other RTS's try to use this as well i.e. SC2 (however it only switches you through unit types) but I haven't found one that does it as well as Dawn of War does.

Really? When managing an army in combat, I usually just hit their hotkey then the ability, rather than tabbing through the whole army.

Same, it's much more efficient and my fingers are already on the numbered section of the keyboard anyway. I don't use advanced sub-selection though. Without that activated tab truly is useless. With it activated it can be handy.
