State of the game for Elite

Hey dudes,
I'm not sure if anyone's really into seeing the show "state of the game" but the TL;DR is something like;
Certain members of the SC2 community meet over skype and discuss the current metagame, MU's, upcoming balance notes (the potential impact of the changes), etc and give their thoughts.
I always enjoyed watching these shows as it gave a verbal insight rather than a written one. I was curious if people are down for that kind of show for the Elite mod. Whether it will translate to The Elite Mod I'm not sure but it's worth a try at least. Ideally, the more content that's produced, the more people will want to play or at least be somewhat interested perhaps.

I'd love to watch something like that, various pros/modders meet up and discuss the game and how they can change it, and since Elite isn't tied to a corproation there aren't any restrictions on what Caeltos can say. The question is, is it worth doing this, is there a meta to discuss and how popular would discussion on a mod's "metagame" be?
I would like to watch it, I like talk shows/podcasts on something that I enjoy, and considering Caeltos' turnout when he streams I don't think popularity is an issue, I just wonder if there's enough content to discuss. :/

Dude, if you throw me in there I guarantee there will be enough to discuss on the game's meta. That said, I'll probably drive everyone else mad :S

I would love those type of podcasts.

As long as everyone mentions my name like every 2 minutes or says something like "What would our beloved and always friendly SM masterrace cartographer say" I'd be interested listening to the cast.
Also everyone needs to say that SM needs buffs (think along the line of Primarchs for the SM) like all the time.

I would be interested in both hearing and being a part of the discussion! I'm not exactly the expert of balance, but just shooting the sh*t with people and talking about the barance of things sounds great!
Only problem I see is timezones and trying to get everything together.

We can easily get games together, so can't we also easily get podcasts together? I'd love to be a part of this whole thing of course, but it might be a case of being overshadowed by the better people. Maybe I should actually play the game, then I would know what I'm talking about.

This idea has always intrigued me and I always loved listening to those podcasts even though I didn't really play the game. They had a ton of fun and some really great discussions on some of them but also really insightful commentary (player perspectives, experienced based theory crafting, sharing gameplay experience).

Knowing the community it would be thirty minutes of circlejerk rants about how everything is op and shit at the same time.

If it were the community of most 3v3 players who host random games and then whine about GK Rhino, yes that would happen. Knowing the community on the forums who all watch these streams, that would not happen.

Alright ya grots I've decided to go ahead and do this. Thanks for the feedback thus far!
I'm going to be working out a schedule, topics, frequency, members, etc
I'm going to probably have a max of 4 people (excluding myself) to talk of certain things. Hopefully it all goes well and enough people show some interest when it goes down.
Will update with details soon if I can get the right people to agree to it. Speak soon!

Good for you PhatE. I've lost count the amount of people that tell me they are going to do this or that for DoW2/Elite and it never happens. Much talk, no action. Good luck!

Red Beard has the 1v1 one covered, so it's all good for now ^^
I'd do it myself if I had the time. Then again, organising makes it hard to play in it yourself...
Big problem for 40K

I wish someone else in the club could do it, so I could play

I've got my mocks coming up in over a week, but I'm free after that, honestly

Great idea, look forward to hearing this.
You planning on hosting them on YouTube like rupee did with his chat with Caeltos or as a podcast?

Not an expert on all this, but I think you can do a twitch/youtube link right?
