Strange Idea

Postby hudhouse » Sun 28 Jul, 2013 5:39 pm

They did this in supreme commander 2 so I thought maybe it could work here... sometimes lets say you have more power then you do have requisition, so why don't we have the power to at base be able to switch? a notable example could be every 10 req is equal to 1 power, and all it could be is a power where you rapidly press the button you switch, so in general you just are allowed to switch

No, that would break how the economy works.

not necessarily. it would require completely redesigning the current economy though, which works well enough as it.

if you have to totally redesign it that is because it breaks the current way in which the eco works.

I should mention in SupCom2 you need to tech to gain mass conversion, which requires research buildings, which require mass & energy (and time), which requires some sort of infrastructure to begin with, and the energy to mass ratio is fairly steep IIRC. You can't just convert off the bat. I'm not even sure if all factions have it.

In DoW2, you basically want a shortcut because you don't want to be bothered with planning your economy. But the game is designed, on purpose, so that overspending on gens or bleeding a lot will hurt you. You will gather excess power with no way to spend it because of no requisition. And the economy is very (very) simplified already. It's not a missing feature, it's getting screwed because you can't play.
