Fight Club Sat 14th March!

Hi all,

Thanks to the successful first round we've had in January, I'll be organising another round of awesomeness. We need streamers, players and referees for the event. For ease of organisation, streamers will be referees as default.

Basic rules can be found here:
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/EliteKotH#

Date: Saturday 14th March
Time: 1800 GMT (Same as last time) - 2100 GMT

Players are welcome to drop at any point during the event, though streamers are encouraged to stay on for the full duration of the event. Of course, everyone is welcome to stay on for longer than the official duration of the event.
Please be present on the group chat 15 minutes before the event starts

Format is largely the same as last time, with a few minor changes thanks to feedback:
There will be three brackets - beginner, intermediate and advanced. You choose your own skill bracket at the beginning of the event.
King of the hill style with the king automatically conceding his position if he has beaten three consecutive challengers. A king who has been knocked off in this fashion automatically advances to the next bracket. This is to promote progression and to encourage you to push yourself against tougher opponents, as well as stop you from smurfing you filthy scrub.

Sign up below with intention to play/referee/stream, as well as your self assigned skill bracket e.g.
Lion Moofassa
Streaming/playing
Intermediate/advanced

If you're too lazy to sign up and post on the forums, you can register your signup on the steam event page:
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/EliteK ... 0088144415

I've selected this date as this allows people to cool off and have a bit of downtime after MRT. In the future I'd like to organise the Fight Club more consistently (I've been out of the country, followed by illness so derp), preferably in conjunction with the organisers of MRT so that our schedules don't conflict.

I would be very happy to play/cocast on that weekend, depends on two things: I am available; I can persuade some dud braindead person to cast with me, where I can hijack their stream.

If I do play stick me in the intermediate bracket, but can we be a bit more pushy as to who is intermediate/elite? Last time I got matched up against Ser Topi in intermediate.

I'd also like to be a part of these Fight Club organizations since I now have the means to cast/ref them instead of needing to rely on other people for that. It will have to wait a while though as I'm currently dealing with Steam issues.

Anyway:

I'd love to co-cast with you, but the chances are that I'll need to hijack someone else's stream because my net is just that bad to provide a decent quality stream.

I'd like to test the automatic progression system in providing better matchups. The thing is that I'm more than happy to participate in the advanced brackets with my SM, but I'm really itching to practice my nids (mainly to troll GKs), which is still a middling intermediate at best . There just might be people in the same boat.

@Atlas

My thanks bruva, may the Emperor repay you. Either Windu or I will make you a moderator so that you can cast and host your own sessions at your convenience (remind us on Steam if we forget)

@Cheeki: Well that's nice, but if neither of us can stream then I can't really see a tri-cast being very favourable, especially not for the streamer whose stream we hijack. :P

Just as a heads up to bros.

There's still some kinks/aspects of streaming that I'm working out, but if you're on you might see me setting up impromptu fight clubs throughout the day/week! No signups or anything, we'll just put player a vs player b (as long as the disparity is reasonable) and I'll be casting the game. Feel free to join in!

We'll need more streamers to create three lobbies. Currently have:

Atlas
Max Power (Tentative)
Swiftsabre: Co-cast (partners to be determined)
Cheekie: Co-cast (partners to be determined)

If we don't get enough casters signing up we'll compromise by lumping up the intermediates with the advanced crew, since a fair number are signing up as intermediate/advanced. If there's a disparity between skill levels within the lobby, we can match between main races vs off races e.g. Swift should be able to kill my nids easily.

This is a contingency however, it'd be better to get more casters on board :)
