Dawn of War Codex

Was discussing this on a recent stream: is there ever ANY reason to spend 40 power to get this over the Doombringer or Gravity Blade? I've never tried to use the Farseer as a straight up damage dealer and I pretty much never buy this because the other weapons have much more utility for a lower price while the spear has no abilities.

Thoughts?

It's good in 1v1s or tight 3v3 lanes I think. Guide on herself + Singing Spear can deal with early vehicles quite nicely and packs a surprising punch against other stuff. In general I think she's better off buffing other AV units, but hey maybe you wanna try triple Warp Spiders and need something to finish off stuff after Haywire. Or something. Always nice to have options.

It's pretty nice vs orks who go for a wartrukk. You really don't want to get a brightlance just to deal with that thing. Instead you go WS with haywire + SS + strength shees. While you wait for a wraithlord.

Funnily enough I did a quick comparison in the codex and the singing spear is actually the most powerful melee weapon a elder hero can get.

I agree that it is really weird to not have some sort of ability on it, but it actually a very solid straight up weapon.

It has the highest dps, second highest damage each hit. It is also heavy melee meaning it isn't terrible versus anything.

I do think a power decrease might be warrented. it's a good weapon but that is 40 power I could have spent saving for that wraithlord.
