Dawn of War Codex

Just in time for your New Years celebrations, it's a mod pack that you can download for the low, low price of $1.99... nah, it's free. Have you ever played Eldar and wondered if they could be any more sparkly? Thought the Space Marines could lighten the hell up a bit? Thought the acronym for Let the Galaxy Burn was a bit too similar to be coincidental? Well now, you can watch as all of the galaxy's most grimdark characters punch rainbows out of each other.





With only the download of one .rar file, and the placement of the extracted folders within your Elite installation folder, you can make the future just a little bit grimbright.

After you paste the folders in your Elite folder, simply run the confetti.bat file within your Elite\Config folder and you're good to go!

Note: Currently doesn't work when hitting small Tyranid units due to an issue with some code. Should work after the next official Elite release.

Running the confetti.bat file will also automatically update your defaultchaptercolours.lua and armypaintercolours.lua, so all of your changes will be added in as well.

If I may ask, how do we make it able to be used ingame. I tried putting it in DataAttrib, but it didn't show up. I am assuming we have to open it with Notepad, and copy it into chapter colors, but I am not sure.

Oh, right. You paste the file into the GameAssets\Mods folder. This goes over regular marine armors, so you don't need to edit defaultchaptercolors at all. You just need to make a custom army in the Army Painter. I'll update the first post with the colors I used in the army painter. I'll also post the icon I used, which you can paste in 'C:\Users\<yourname>\Documents\my games\Dawn of War II - Retribution\Badges'

You can't open .sga files in Notepad, you need to download the SGA Reader 2, which you can download here: https://code.google.com/p/modstudio2/do ... SgaReader2

imho it would be a nice touch to see the mek boy modeled after the Big Mek from DOW 1. Is it possible (or feasible) to change the Mek Boy theme, similar to how the Warboss has a set of Elite themes?

I'm glad I am a Sorceror player, that Abyss is collosally beautifully (and evil). I think Chaos Lord players might get bored of their normal abyss, which might provoke them to play something else

Okay, I started making some new markers for Eldar, specifically for Warp Throw, Psychic Storm, Levitation Field, and whatever else uses that same marker. I can't remember if any others do, maybe Eldritch.

So here's my first draft for Warp Throw.



Critiques welcome. I also have no idea if I'm using appropriate Eldar runes (found them here: http://eldar.arhicks.co.uk/miscellaneou ... _runes.php). I used the warlock rune for Destructor/Embolden, but maybe a different one would fit better, dunno. Someone who knows the lore better than I do feel free to comment on that.

So yeah, have at it.

This will greatly benefit players in their decision making.

Looks very nice. The color red makes it agressive enough to force mass retreat (lol noobs).

Does the rune rotate to indicate the direction in which units are thrown, or is the symbol always the same?

Always the same. Could probably make it so it follows the casting direction.

Oh actually I don't want it to indicate the direction. It benefits your opponent by giving another information about what you're planning to do. If it's always the same then alright.
