Here's a question: Is it possible to implement and if so, how hard it is to do so?
I know nothing of programming, coding and all that technical stuff, hence the question. Since we can already fit in 8 people in a lobby and provided we have the maps to support a 4v4, is this even possible?

Pretty sure we had 4v4 before anyway earlier in the mod? Maybe I'm just delusional, or maybe it was a dream.
How about using COH maps for team games? They're a lot bigger and it solves the lane problems of DOW teams. Could be interesting.

It is possible. You just choose your hero before moving into an obs slot, and load up a map with 8 HQs all correctly assigned. The problem is resource generation which seemed to go haywire - I think you generate as much resources as a 1v1 from each point. Can't recall exactly, just remember that it wasn't as expected.

Yep, it is possible, all you need are four hqs on each side. Anyone can draw one up for testing purposes. I might have a bash just for the hell of it, it'll be awful but might be fun to mess around with before consigning it to the vaults of Terra.
The internal battery has run dry, the game can now be played. However, clock based events will no longer occur.

Just view the extra resource generation as a feature 
Now you have even more money to buy units to send to the inevitable giant 4v4 clusterfuck of a meat grinder/artillery target zone that is the middle of the map!
Seriously though this would be awesome to try to implement
