Streaming?

Hi everyone,

So I'm relatively new to elite mod and I only have 225 hours with the game in general, so I was wondering: Is there anyone I should talk to if I want to stream the game consistently? I absolutely fell in love with the game and, though I kind of suck, I'd love to help support it in any way I can.

If you're looking to stream consistently then the first thing to work on is how you relate to an audience, which can be easily done by just... streaming! :D An easy way to do this is try snuggling up to a current streamer and play some games that you stream together, obviously this does not help you if you want to stream alone but it helps to teach you how to talk whilst playing, have a bit of tactical conversation and then being able to learn from it. It requires confidence and I think Ven could help you since he is a comparatively new streamer, Gorilla (Batpimp) is a very consistent streamer and we have all seen Max Power's illustriously named events pop up. There are still a few others who stream less or more privately so ask around. Anyone who is a mod on the Steam group will mostly be a streamer of one description, but of varying activity.

To summarise: Ask around, get the streamers' advice (since I don't stream so I'm not the authority on this matter) and get out there! Play around, having a beginner as a streamer is no bad thing (although there are some who might tell you that ;) )

I'm also a really new and private streamer. So far, I only stream occasionally and I can tell you the best way to work out your kinks is to just do it. My method to making sure I don't go into pure dead time when I talk is to have a sort of procedure on the topics I talk about.

For example, on the loading screen I like to talk about specific faction matchups, when I see an enemy hero I go into more specifics and when a team game is getting bad I start blaming all my teammates for being terrible scrubs :P

there are so many new streamers these days!

im kinda temped to make a short video series on the basics of streaming and more specifically streaming DOW2, as so many people seem to be getting in to it these days.

then again i was thinking of doing something similar, but for playing the actual game, getting gud etc. but still never got around to doing it.

good idea? or should i not waste my time?

Do it, I think it would be a massive time save. Perhaps make a forum thread on it and then ask for some other streamers to chip in and then we can announce it.

Get gud at streaming and write a guide. We can also post it on our Moddb page once it's complete.
