So I redownloaded the Elite mod today after a long hiatus, and I'm having trouble with the hotkey changes.

I'm thinking about going back to default Hotkeys from the retail version. My question is should I? I am assuming that these changes have some sort of benefits. Any recommendations and advice would be much appreciated.

There wasn't really a micro improvement benefit to what the hotkeys were changed to. Most of them were changed because they overlapped with something else. And the GK hotkeys changed because GK didn't have their own hotkeys. All of the hotkeys are customize-able now, and you can either do that or enable grid keys in the options menu in-game.

And if you manually edit your hotkeys, always remember to make a copy of it so you can easily redo them when you install a new full patch.

I'd suggest if you are big on hotkeys use the grid hotkeys function, it'll make your life easier without having to relearn them all.

Ah ok now I understand, I think I'll try the grid keys option before I start changing any of them. Thanks for the advice.
