There are quite a few ppl out there(including me) who would love to try out the elite mod without the retail dow2.. Is there a way to install it properly? I have steam and the game but its just a cracked version though

It's been thrown around before, I've said no it isn't possible, I've heard it is, then someone also says it isn't. I don't actually know, but it means you can't play with thsoe on Steam if it does work.

Nobody here endorses piracy at all. Buy the damn game if you want to play the mod.

Can't you just take the CD Key from a non-Steam copy of Retri and make it usable in Steam? That's the only way I can see of making a copy of Retri work if you didn't buy it on Steam.

All copies of Retribution activate on Steam, regardless of where/how you got it. It is required to play.

DOW2 retribution uses Steamworks to function, its not only for the online either, its the DRM for the game so you need to adtive the game through steam regardless of where you purchase it.

and besides elite mod is a multiplayer balance mod, being unable to play with others completely destorys the point. this mod is not as big or as game changing as something like ultimate apocolypse for DOW1.

retribution is litterally like £5 when it goes on sale, if you can take the time and effort to post here; you can spare £5 to actually buy the game.

Yeah really. When a game is years old and has been on -75% sale a hundred times and you want to play it, just buy the thing.
