Mod not working if Retribution is not installed in the same folder as Steam

To be honest I already knew this issue existed last time I installed Elite (more or less six months ago) but I was hoping it would be resolved meanwhile. Well, turns out it isn't; is there any workaround, aside from the obvious "just install Retribution in the same folder as Steam", which I can't do because my SSD is out of space?

You can just move the Elite.module and the Elite folder over to where you have Retribution installed yourself. The installer just puts the files in your Ret folder, nothing else fancy is done to make it work.

Dawn of War Elite is currently installed in my Retribution folder, so that's not the issue; but that folder is not on the same drive where I installed Steam (Steam is on C:, which is my SSD, and Retribution on D:, which is my HDD). When I try starting Elite all I get is a crash report, whereas Vanilla Retribution works just fine.

Of course installing Retribution on my SSD would be the easiest way to solve the problem, but as I already said I simply don't have the disk space for it.

Then I reckon that is the issue, you may have to move DoW II, Elite and Steam to one drive. I'm no computer magician but that's what I see.

What does the file path say when you go to change the install location? It's possible that there's an extra "DOW2-ELITE" folder added on to the end.

Very wise indeed - that turned out to be the issue, did not notice the installer added another folder to the installation path. Thank you!
