Brood Nest

Brood nest is far too cheap and effective......it either needs 1 of its current abilities either heal aura or reinforcement aura with possible upgrade to add the missing ability and increasing its hp by 150 costs say 100/20 or keep both and have a requisition cost added for build

It also decreases your chance to have a Tranaformation later on. Add that.

It's so incredibly fragile that it should be easy to spam.

It might be a bit too strong in team games relative to its cost but certainly not at the level of the Relay Beacon.

Iirc it's A HUNDRED BIOMASS.. Yes, ONE HUNDRED. That in itself is rather a lot for something that's fragile. I'll accede to Hiveminion's claim that it might be a tad too much in teamgames, but I do recall the lead-modder saying many, many times that elite is balanced around 1v1.

LOS makes it such a good force multiplier. Slap it on a map like Jarilo's or Quest's and have fun trying to dislodge the bid position

That is not so much a balance issue with the ability but a balance issue with the map. It can be abused with any AoE buff, like Waagh banners or Webways.

It's not an issue with the maps since every map has LOS blockers (otherwise it just be a flat map without any objects).

True, but some maps have it better than others. Siwal, for example, is a relatively open field compared to Quest's.

Anyway, I simply pointed out the map layout as a further consideration (though I admit that this point remains valid for a lot of defensive fortifications)

Yeah I assumed Cheekie was referring to the relative positioning of the shot blockers rather than the general existence of them.

The cost effectiveness of Tyranid T1 is arguably the best in the game when micro'd particular ways and having the HT (an already formidable hero) there to support a brood nest which is behind LoS blockers is pretty unstoppable, for most races. The broodnest also heals and reinforces for a pretty generous range with fast reinforce times of the two starting units so it costing 100 Biomass isn't really an argument when you get it back within 3 minutes or less. Just pray that they don't get to T2 before you when the 35 biomass towers come about.

IIRC a warboss a chaos lord a HT or a sentinel and any walker can walk over them

Only while they are being constructed, so that is not a viable counter.
