Preamble:
MRT 16's special rule didn't quite create the kind of matchups I was hoping for, with players often picking all of one faction to play as or for players unaccustomed to needing to play more than one or two heroes getting picked on. Still, the tournament itself played out with little issues.

We'll not be doing anything special for this MRT, so standard rules will apply. However, including MRT 16 we will start keeping track of your performances in the MRTs as we lead up into an end of the year tournament. Look for another thread later describing that in more detail.

As a side note, we're looking to add a cash prize into this tournament instead of just the usual Steam games. Due to Humble Bundles and other specials, Steam games have become very undervalued and when players option to not receive a prize at all, there is an incentive issue

General Info:
The complete set of information including Brackets and Participants are listed in the Monthly Rumble Tournament 17 page.

Date:Monthly Rumble Tournament #17 will be held on Sunday, August 30th.
Time: 18:00 UTC+1

The tournament will be played in the 1v1 format.
The tournament will be welcome to All Skill Levels.
The tournament will be played on the 2.4.2 patch.

Rules:
It's going to be a single elimination tournament and we'll play as many signups as possible.
Refer to the general rules thread for an overview.

Map Picks
Maps are always selected before hero picks.

The first match of a round will always be a fixed map as shown in the brackets. After this, the map pick will be the loser's choice. Only maps in the map pool may be played to be considered a valid tournament match.

No map can be played more than once within a round. Each player will have the option to veto a single map during a round, excluding the first match map. Maps that are variants of other maps, such as Pale Tooth Gorge and Green Tooth Gorge, will count as one map and can't be selected in the same round.

Hero Picks

The player on the top side of the bracket cell will lock in their hero first for the first match. Next game, the player on the bottom side of the bracket cell will lock in their opponent's hero first, and the order will alternate like this until the final game. In the final game of the round, the loser of the previous match will pick the map and then their hero first.

To check out who is on the top and bottom of your bracket cell, just look at the Brackets page. If your name is in the blue bar, you're the top of the bracket. If it's in the red bar, you're the bottom of the bracket.

Ok again, this thread is mostly just going to stay up for scheduling purposes. Efforts are mostly going to be focused on the ranking system and the upcoming BT for at least two weeks. If you have any questions, comments, complaints or concerns here's the place to put them.

Np Noisy! As for Forest, we'll consider it I don't think I've seen anyone pick it yet.

Wooh bt thread now has more than 60 posts while mrt has 5. Let's just rename BT to MRT and ban every1 above 500 hours from entering, it'll get more coverage that way.

The MRT thread gets put up super early though. I honestly don't expect any traffic to be coming in here till like 1.5/2 weeks before tourney start. It really comes up as early as it does so that people can work MRTs into their schedule should they need to. Some people work Saturdays, or might be busy and needs to find out etc etc.

Not only that, but Atlas also NEVER ANNOUNCES THIS STUFF.

I had a lot of fun with the beginners tournament so I'll be joining in this one too .

I'm gonna stick with my apo and warp spider, but I'm gonna try out GK and see how I like them.
