If you could put in your own hero for each race...

Just a discussion for funsies, but if you could put in a hero for each current race (race specific, no warp spider exarch for chaos or something like that) who would you put in?

For example,

I think it would have been fun to have a Ranger hero for the eldar. The ranger is one of my favorite units to use and to have a commander sniper sounds like several barrels of monkeys fun. I'd probably have wargear such as a stronger sniper, or catapult for medium range damage, or sword for close range stealthy assassinations. It would also really fit the eldar theme of stealth and having the first strike.

I had something for Chaos and Space marines but I can't remember for the life of me...

I would love a Ranger Hero too, but I have the feeling he would be EVEN MORE annoying to play against then the Warpspider :D

I mean, a Swoopinghawk commander would be cool (even though a biiit overlap with the Autarch) or a Striking Scorpion. The cool thing would be that this mostly negates the problem of implementing them, which is that their role as a squad is already filled by other units. Also Striking Scorpions are fucking cool :P (Also if we are going with a aspect as commander, I would like a phoenixlord :D just for style and more wargear options.)

Something more exotic, a Commander that rides a Jetbike, either a shining spear, or whatever on a Jetbike. It would add really cool gameplay to have a Commander that has the base ability of being really fast (hm, kinda Warpspider already, but you know what I mean).

But, if we just go totally crazy and don't take gameplay into account: I want Eldrad. Well, I guess he could be a Skin for the Warlock/Farseer.

So if I had to pick I would say Karandras/Strikingscorpion Exarch or if we go unrealistic Jetbike.^^

I would love to see general Sturnn in dow2 (or any future dow/reric wh game for that matter), by far my favorite dow character. I'm not sure what the Winter Assault canon ending was so tho so he might be dead. Anyways as far as I'm concered the imperium secured the titan. :P

SM - Librarian as a hero, not a sub-commander.
CSM - Champion of Slaanesh, Indrid version.
IG - Psyker. Nuff said.
Eldar - something harlequin related. Fast, sneaky hero to assassinate commanders, etc.
Orks - Big Mek? Or painboy as a hero.
Nids - just more monstrous creatures.
GK - I`d like to hear about Caeltos ideas for these guys.

Bikes in dow2 would be hilarious. :D

Really we just need to get an Autarch commander instead of a call in for Eldar.

Otherwise I just agree with Sinisterlaugh.

Quick Reminder, try not to sound like you're demanding for these characters to be put in the game this is for funsies (Although Caeltos might want to take some notes, *hint *hint *wink *wink *nudge *nudge *Tongue slurp).

I think the chaplain was my space marine idea that I couldn't think of lol.

I just remembered for chaos, it would have been cool to have something the represented the daemons of chaos. Some sort of daemon commander that represented one aspect of the dark gods. It would have been really cool (Terrifying) to see some tentacled monstrosity slither its way around the battlefield.

Just my little -for fun- wishlist.

Eldar - Troupe Master. Debilitation, control, and assassination commander. Reliant on fast, sneaky play which can become more aggressive with certain wargears. Should not ever get too durable though.

Tyranids - Tyranid Prime - Mainly just because it's one of the few command units in the 'Nid army that isn't humongous to the point where it would be super difficult to balance. Might have a versatile ability to fill in for both melee and ranged combat with various synapse upgrades.

Orks - Skarboy maybe? Mix of buffs for Orks with some specialized weaponry. Not too certain on this one. I think there are some dialogues from the Gretchin announcer relating to him though.

Chaos - Fallen Captain - I know a lot of people want a Slaaneshi commander, but I'd kind of like to see these guys represented. You don't see them all that often.

Imperial Guard - Maybe a Tech Priest Dominus - Not technically IG, but I think it would be cool to see. Especially if it reskinned things like Guardsmen with Skitarii (same stats, different look). Might get kind of crazy with the vehicle support though given that IG already has a lot of repair.

Space Marines - Giving into peer pressure and going with Chaplain. No particular reason other than because a guy with a skull mask smashing daemons in the face is cool in any language.

I'm still hoping for those fourth comms.

Chaos - Slaaneshi hero. Gotta do it. Dark Apostle would be good for a sub-comm.

Space Marines - Chaplain as many have said.

Nids - Some kind of Broodlord, with Ymgarl Genestealers as a call-in.

IG - Techpriest Enginseer. Sanctioned Psyker more suited to a sub-comm I think.

Orks - Big Mek!

Eldar - I dunno

SM - Chaplain
CSM - Dark Apostle (Slaanesh)
AM - Sanctioned Psyker
Eldar - Wraithseer (Scaled down to WraithGuard size)
Orks - Runtherd
Nids - Tervigon
GK - Lord Inquisitor

Add a bit of my ideas:
1) Inquisitor is already sanctioned psyker, so maybe Mechanicus or Adeptus Arbitres commander will fit better
2) Orks - maybe some Freebooter commander, like Kaptin Badrukk http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Badrukk
3) Nids - Broodlord, dunno why Relic did'y think about him as commander.
4) Eldar - ADD AUTARCH AS COMMANDER ALREADY! srsly, she is HQ in tabletop, wraithseer/one of the Phoenix Lords(Jain Zar FTW) are more suited as sub-comms
5) SM - Chief Librarian or Master of Sanctity
6) CSM - Dark Apostle of Chaos Undivided, cuz he is HQ and for example Slaaneshi Marine is just a marked marine, nothing more.
7) GK - maybe GK Grand Master.

*Insert flame-balance-lore-dunning-krueger-effect-statement*

I want:
- Inquisitor Karamazov
- Heldrake (scaled down of course jeez give me a break, wasn't suggesting it normal size that's OP)
- Squat chief for IG
- Double lightning claw Chaplain with jump pack (SM neeeeeeeed melee supremacy early on)
- Genestealer cult Broodlord, looks like a Guardsman and has Guardsman animations until in combat, when six arms sprout out of his body, by default has implant attack
- Grot hero with tier three Grot tank armour
- Sneaky Dark Eldar guy masquerading as Eldar Autarch, special unique mechanic involves avoiding him being detected by your own troops so he doesn't get shot at when they find out he's evil el oh el ecs dee

That would be an amazing model for Dark Flame global, like the Valkyrie for IG's globals.
But i doub someone will make a 3d model for 10 frames of gameplay.

oook here I have no choice.
If the Autarch is moved to HQ (keeping her grenades ?), then give an in-game entrance on stage to the Solitaire...

No one said it yet (in this thread) so...

Spore Mine Alpha.

Codex, priestess healer, social awkwardness specialist. Supports troops and friends emotionally as much as with spam heals and buffs. Cries a little with each victory.

And no one will get the reference.

That would be really cool, but I am not sure it fits in the IG lore, especially not as a commander (even though I guess as a Chief the Powerlevel is right). We can't just do it because its cool.

I do. And it's why I thought you were a girl for like, 2 years ;)

As for new heroes... 2 new GK heroes. I really don't care what! The druggy assassin sounded cool. The 3rd one should be ranged because reasons.

I always liked the idea of a Davian Thule pre-dreadnought commander for SM. Can buy heavy bolters and in general play like Avitus does in the campaign although with a slower set up. (Clear out, sprint, focus fire, etc)

I would like to see actual 40K heroes who are currently sub-commanders become heroes themselves.

For Space Marines you could have the current 3 plus a librarian and chaplain.

For Eldar you could have the current three plus the autarch (autarchs are literally generals, their current depiction as an AOE spell and vehicle hunter is so uninspired)

For Orks you would have the warboss and commando nob, but turn the mek into a big mek, make painboy a hero, and make weirdboy a hero.

For tyranids you could have the warrior alpha, although that might be redundant with the hive tyrant.

I can't think of anything for Chaos and IG, I think their heroes are well-represented enough.
