Well, not sure if it fits for balance discussion but it should be like a 50% fitting.

Well, ummm... Not the most necessery thing ever asked in this community and I asked it before. I couldn't see a traditional way to complite my '' Warrior Build '' called Merciless Withcblade / Champions Robe tanky melee build. I asked it before to the forum and you said to go with Warpthrow. Well, I want to save my energy for the shiled, not to throw enemys to be honest. And HoD was super cool eather, I coulnd't really understand why it was removed or changed in that way.

Can't we have Heart of Darkness as same as before and have Enhance as a 4th wargear under HoD ?

Enhance sux, Warlock can't even use it on himself. Gib back energy and health pls

Agree, a 4th wargear would be nice. I never understood why it was replaced instead of added.

I am inclined to agree with toil here. Now I loved the jedi build when I used it. Hated facing it.

Jedi was bullshit, this is true, but warlock with no jedi, no stacking speed on shees, and now shees that are pathetic at chase killing because of no charge equates to the warlock being one of the weakest heros for 1v1. No jokes. He is by far the most reliant on banshees of the elder heros.

Yeah pretty much. The amount it healed as well as what the gear gave you was super strong and lent a lot of power to the WL.

Enhance is at best OK but not remotely close to what it was. The application is good but the window is too slim for it to make a large enough impact.

Hod needed to die. but it also needed to be replaced by another passive/ non energy dependent wargear. preferably another damage charge up one.


It would be nice if enhance was an aoe ability (centred on the warlock) that buffed him and units in a small area after he had taken a certain amount of damage.

that way we got a 3rd slot war-gear that could still work with the bubble build without making it another 2000 hp t2 commander silliness combo.


But enhance as a targeted ability strikes me as more of a rip off of something a farseer would have rather than something the lock would have. it is basically guide but with movement speed and no extended range...

Well, Warlock was absolutly okay with MWB / Champ build and I toughed HoD wasn't good enough even. Well, that was overkill, I agree but also needed. I agree with giving passive bonus to him like a health regen or energy regen. Well, energy regen might be too good but not OP, also health regen would be satisfiyng for me since Warlock has no health regen on the field exept his Webways. I mean, he has no health regen on any of his armor and I am missing that sometimes.

When in doubt, nerf Eldar.

Warp Throw was always the centre of complaints, but WoD had it's share back in vanilla. Thankfully for Warp Throw it glitched out half the time and thus was "acceptable" for not being hit with the gigantic spiked nerf rod.

Well in the most technical of senses it did get hit with a massive nerf rod. two if i recall.

1 was that it moved a tier
2 was that relic made it so it could not work on retreating units ( along with a host of other abilities like it that could just annihilate retreating units effortlessly ).

You could say it was more of a fix but the net change in power was quite substantial at the time.

HoD was slightly too good and had a stupid load-when-damage-taken mechanism (that providence still keeps but it does make more sense as providence grants invulnerability).

As already stated, Enhance is okay-ish at best and spends energy which is, well, stupid to manage.

You won't get HoD back and we actually do not want to. I've suggested modifications to enhance but Caeltos disagreed. Now WL is only played to abuse Cloak of Shadows. FS it is.

I kind of miss the days when the merciless witch blade was actually scary by itself rather than scary because it was part of a 2000 hp t2 commander combination that happen to want a weapon that did not eat energy)

Why not improve enhance so it isn't like a crappy version of Inspire Determination? Support abilities that makes offensive commanders less 1-dimensional are great for the game because they discourage 1-man-army play styles.

Not a bad point tbh.

Now that the warlock cant tank past t1, maybe its time to think about giving some potency back to the MWB ranged attack.

The WL wasn't even a top tier hero before HoD got nerfed, yet it still got nerfed. Lots more nerfs coming for eldar before HoD comes back, I guarantee it.

I would certainly hope Eldar gets their well deserved nerfs.

Loves new heart of darkness. Hates old heart of darkness. Warlock has alot of new play styles to mess around with that ppl havent found yet. Just use that ability more on other units like FD, Reapers or WG and see those results. (Must of used Warlock now for 3000+ hrs)

Kurnous is getting a buff next buff as well as enhance it seems. I like the idea of enhance getting buffed since it is kinda meh atm due to the short duration. The old HoD WL was pretty silly.

I still feel that MWB is pretty scary weapon overall since the ranged attack is still troll mode and energy drain scales well + the special attack still messes stuff up hardcore.

WL is still the Eldar hero I struggle the most against.

Cuz wl comes with the Elderp master race and the wl kicks some serious but.

Destructor is what makes WL tough for me in 1s.

Someone nerf Destructor already!

When it comes to mind that relic initially did plan Destructor to level with the WL... Nurland's nightmare =)

The new HoD is not that bad, but its not your first priority wargear, I tried a few times to switch between it and the runes, like heal up while the fight happens, and switch to HoD in the meantime to chase the units better on the following reatreat. But I have to say that sm and chaos feels a bit harder with this change sometimes, but 1 Hero manhandling 2-3 sm squads alone wasnt fine either. There are some nice new plays possible with the new HoD, the old one was simple but also boring (to see it in 70% of the games).

Paying 30 power in T2 for a shittier version of Guide is a lot more boring than the Jedi build, I think
