The Entire Witcher Series is on Sale - Should I buy?

Hi all, looking for input on the Witcher series. I have played a bit of the first game, but don't have 2 or 3. #2 is 85% off and #3 is 50% off for the next few days.

If anyone has positive/negative experiences I would appreciate hearing about them. I haven't played a good RPG since Star Wars KOTOR.

Played all 3 games in a row in a month around the time witcher 3 came out, definitely recommend them.

Each game is actually quite a different experience with the game mechanics and story pacing being quite different between the games.

The biggest selling point is how the story unfolds. There are no black and white ethics and you get to constantly make decisions that effect the storyline so it actually feels like YOU are the main character rather than Gerald. :P

Definite must buy, to quote myself: "best CRPGS since the Fallout / Baldur's Gate / Torment era." I have vouched for them before and will again. It must be said that TW1 is kind of low budget and basically an extreme Aurora (Neverwinter Nights) mod – although still a good game – but from TW2 onward CDPR had the monies to crank up the production value and go AAA.

I still think the series should be played with the original Polish voices for maximum atmosphere.

Spectacular writing, gameplay is a 5/10 though, very interesting world, characters and quests, it will surprise you, I've started reading the books as well and so far they are enjoyable, this is mainly talking about TW2/3 I have got TW1 one but I have yet to play it.

Hmmm, I agree that the 1st game feels low budget... but I love the story and core game design, so if the newer games are an improvement I am definitely picking them up. Thanks for the input guys.

Ofc Witcher 1 was low budget in comparison to other titles but still remember pls how old that game is. Still, whole series on sales? Just FUCKING buy it and enjoy one of the best cRPGs of the all time.

As a guy who played all the games and read all the books, I must say YOU MUST BUY ALL THE GAMES!
They all have a great story, atmosphere, many choices which affect the world and long play value. The only grip is the combat which takes time to get used to as you play around with potion making, armour and weapon crafting which become essential on harder difficulty to win fights.

Yes, I believe you were the one who talked me into playing them in the first place and even donated Witcher 2 for me. :P

Really? I guess it may have happened, I vaguely remember having an extra TW2 for some reason… Mission successful then.

Hmmmm I just watched the Angry Joe review of #3... It's gonna be hard to abstain from it until I complete 1 and 2.

Well I finished The Witcher #1 and bought #2 and #3. I liked the 1st game, but I am really hoping they improve the combat system. In the 1st game, the only time I died was when all the enemies had a chance to stun me for 5 seconds.... I would literally lose a fight because my character spent the entire time grasping at his throat and not being able to move or fight... how incredibly frustrating. I hope that aspect of the game improves in #2 and #3.
