The ELITE Mod Round Table Show is coming your way later today at 9pm GMT/4pm EST, streamed live on twitch by Atlas: http://www.twitch.tv/atlastheinquiring
This is a community event where various famous names from the game come together to discuss the state of the game and their opinions on the new ELITE Mod 2.5 patch. We'll be looking at the current state of the balance, discussing potential future changes as well as meta predictions for the upcoming Team Tumble 2. The brackets for the event can be found here: TT 2 Brackets.
Features of the stream will be: - An interview with the lead designer Caeltos himself - Round table discussion - Patch notes and map reviews
The line-up for the stream is going to make for some good material as we may see experts such as Ace of Swords and modders such as Wise Windu, hosted by the charming and witty Atlas.
I hope that all of you can join us for this fantastic venture and if it's a success, expect to see more next weekend as we discuss the aftermath of the Team Tumble.

A big thanks to Atlas for hosting the stream tonight even if it overran but forty five minutes. What a bro.
Couldn't have done it without Caeltos and our various experts and it was good to see people challenging things.
We're looking into doing another next week that will be slicker and hopefully more comfortable where we can look at maps, tournaments and ESL in depth.

Thanks for running this guys, it was a lot of fun. I hope more of it happens!
First try was good, next time you should up the "production values" and less brown nosing plox.

So did the proof of concept actually work out in the end?
A better idea next time is that this is scheduled and announced via something rather than less than 24 hours prior or similar. I would have made myself available to tune in if I knew it earlier in the week.
youtube channel?

+1
Would have liked people to pitch in a little bit more. Felt like they all kept in the background. Also microphone statics and stuff, really annoying to listen to

It started as a pre-patch video with high production value but never got finished as the patch hit before we could do interviews, so the concept was reworked super fast to be a post patch stream and suddenly I was hit by an absolute crap load of work and I've been frantically writing all week, so I had to leave it to Atlas mainly who had his own issues as Steve was not going to be around for when the stream was scheduled. We wrote the entire script an hour before the stream aired which was why it got announced at such short notice. I'm working on something for next week regarding showing off maps, ESL, tournaments and streamer talk, all of which is WIP.
So I'm sorry for the rushed announcement and lower production values but I'm under a lot of pressure right now and I had deliver something fast. Atlas was my saving grace and hopefully because of this next week can go ahead smoothly.

Nah I take part of the blame too brother Swift.
I hear all the complaints about it and, should this actually be something that happens more in the future, it'll be a lot more refined in later renditions.
As for the upload, I'm currently figuring out just how to upload it to youtube I'm not sure if youtube actually like a ~3 hour video that much.
I really like the idea of making an official Elite Mod Map Pool at the top of the list and the less balanced maps at the bottom. If possible. Or at least have retail and other maps split if a consensus can not be made on "good" maps. I'd make a list of what my map pool would look like soon if there is interest in it.
Heretics as a close combat unit are very lacklustre now. Only act as a screening tool, which is good. Increasing their close combat powers a bit when buying an AC might be a thing to look into though. Think increasing their dmg to ~22 and blast to ~20.
Plague Marines bolters need a nerf. They are good vs infantry as well and shouldn't be.
@Caeltos. If economy is an issue with Fire Dragons and DA on the field why not change the eco for Fire Dragons instead? This way you address the issue you feel there might be without also buffing the build orders without Fire Dragons.
Nobody mentioned the HWT change is also a buff to LC executing them
About LR & Vendread. The LR drop should definitely cost at least 75-100 power. It's so strong and works in almost any situation. While the Vendread is only useful in certain areas. The 100 power cost is fine, but the red and req are a bit too high imo. 500- 550 req and ~250 red seems more appropriate for the vendread.
No ranged snare for Nids kinda removes them from the competitive scene imo. A transport is just untouchable for them and don't even mention any tank.
Chaos autocannon needs a nerf, for a long time now.

If it includes Lugganath Glacier, go ahead

Ok, little late but I admit I just forgot about this.
So after the success of the first installment a second one has been commissioned with higher production values and more time put into it. Last week we were both very stretched by our sad real lives but this week things are much lighter.
Presenting:
ELITE Round Table II
This Saturday at 9pm GMT/4pm EST everyone's favourite Steve BbBoS will be hosting the second ELITE Round Table Show on his twitch channel:
In this episode we will be covering: - A look back at the meta over the past week since 2.5's release with commentary. - The implementation of ESL and what it means for the competitive scene. - New maps, analysis and reveals of future map improvements as well as teases to upcoming ones. - Extra content regarding streamers and casters and what 2.5 means for them.
So join us on a Saturday on BbBoS' stream wherever you are in the world for top quality entertainment. We've upgraded the stream quality to have all sorts of flashy features and interesting bits of eye candy which should address many of the complaints about production from last time.
