So great news everyone, we've finally got some voice acting talent alongside with us! More specifically - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLxpfuotc-8

We're excited and happy to have someone helping us out, and we're aiming to first and foremost focus on the Kasrkins voices first. If you have any suggestions, or ideas on what potential voice-lines. Feel free to pitch in here!

It's important to note, that there are several key triggers for certain voice-lines. Such as;

Epic stuff. As I understand, some other units will also get new voice lines? I found on his channel Chaos Terminators and Tempestus Scions as well. Maybe its time to say goodbye to old Imperial Guard and welcome astra militarum - this way Kasrkins would be replaced by Tempestus Scions

When under fire

Also for the love of god will you rename them to grenadiers because that's what they are.

Elite or not but still humans

For all the weirdos out there, they're Kasrkin. It's in the lore, int he game, in DoW I, it's the models etc. They are Kasrkin, and everyone loves Kasrkin.

As for voicelines, since they are the elite of the ground forces do we want sort of reserved English, not quite posh but getting there, or are we looking at gruff voices?

Just as a bit of info for you folks, a lot of my Imperial Guard voices are actually quite old now from when I recorded them. I've learned a lot more about voice acting and such since then (upwards of 2 years ish for some). So whatever I tackle now will more than likely be better, not to mention custom to how you guys would like it or at least to the best of my ability =).

I'll probably be tackling a few things actually. Orks and Imperial Guard units on the cards at the moment, maybe even those Chaos Terminators. Oh and perhaps even a rather drug crazed Assassin if all things go well

Thanks for the mention about the Scions, I wasn't convinced they were all that great to be fair. I think I can do a better job of that sort of unit looking back now, especially with DoW2 having a much richer set of voice lines and call outs. So keep the quotes and scripting going folks, I've already seen some great lines for the Chaos Terminators =D

Imho gruff voices. They are veterans, they have seen the worst shit galaxy has to offer. They shouldn't be like english gentelmans with perfect accent. But thats my opinnion.

I would say much rougher in their delivery in my opinion, I picture them to very much have a "seen it, done it, killed it" attitude which I think could be reflected with a healthy dose of sarcasm and dry wit. Pair this with an overall very serious sounding set of commands and acknowledgments and we might be on to a winner.

Man I am DYING to hear "PRESENT AND ACCOUNTED FOR, SIR" again. Can we give this line to Kasrkins?

In the current lore Kasrkin are unique to the cadian shock troops. if you want to butcher it a bit you could assume that they would be found on cadian modeled regiments or those linked to cadia in some way but it become weirder when you have the catachans, the death korps of krieg or the mordian iron guard going around. Look by yourself on the Lexicanum and Warhammer 40k wiki.

Honestly I shouldn't really care because I call them Kasrkin all the time myself but officially if they're not from the cadians they're called grenadiers (or regimental storm troopers but that makes things confusing with the whole lot of storm troopers we have already).

And I know someone is going to say that we alreasy have the catachan unit going around in all kind of regiments they shouldn't be in but even then Relic originally lampshaded that inconcistency by saying they were from the penal legion.

Finally registered just to say this - awesome idea, I think some lines from DoW 1 should be added.

Most of them are "Imperium Thoughts for the Day" and from various IG quotes from DoW 1.

Some good lines coming out here, we'll have to sort a way of compiling them into a single script so we've not got lines all over the shop

I can see Kasrkin being more relaxed and straight to the point in their demeanor, IE they'd have no need to 'prove themselves' since they have done so numerous times already, or done things so much they're more centered on clear lines or chit-chat with sarcasm thrown here and there. And also some special relation to chaos because of the fluff.

I quite like where you're going with this Sorcerer, having these guys as hardened and experienced sounding with a dash of dry / dark humour and such is cool. No doubt they'd kick it up a notch when the fighting gets thick but maintain that sharp professionalism. I'd love to see more in this sort of vein personally =)

I'm not 100% sure but I think things would be infinitely easier for everyone if the filenames of the various sounds are released in a list, at least to look at it and see what comes up rather than coming up with a line and seeing where it could fit. It'd be something to work with.

This assuming the filenames are actually readable and intuitive like the weapon list in the codex. God forbid it being just a random assortment of numbers for all of them.

Now that is something I have no idea about myself, I can only really go off what Caeltos posted at the start of this thread and from what I've heard in game. No idea of how DoW2's file naming is done =/

Not so sure about the current direction of them being all sarcastic and jaded all the time considering that unlike other storm troopers these guys actually know the people they are fighting for. Also I didn't care that much before but in this case you really shouldn't put reference to Cadia and Kasrkin in the voice clips.

Why not?

I have already given my reason as to why they shouldn't be called Kasrkin in an earlier post but given voice line that refer to that name would make it really hard to consider them as anything other than that.

Imperial Guard as a faction is Cadian, though. It's why guardsmen sometimes say 'You're Cadians, act like it' and 'Show them Cadian ferocity!'.

Honestly, I kinda wanna go in a different direction for Kasrkin. While GM are kinda the scrubs that get prodded by a commissar into battle, and storms are kinda the elite prep-boys in the armies, I see Kasrkin as super professional, but kinda empathetic to the little guys. Sort of like a big brother, little brother relationship.

They sort of know that they are looked to as an example among the rank and file, and try to live up to those expectations. With that mindset, here's some of the lines that I put together.

(P.S. I would also support them being renamed to Grenadiers . As such, I made the lines name-neutral)

You guys are putting just a tad way too much stock into the fluff here. Do people try to make Catachan Devils wildly different across the various different skins? No, Catachans have a unique personality among the IG that you can't force their models to fit in the skins that have been made for the mod or the Death Korps, thus they always look the same. So apply that same concept to Kasrkins. They're a special squad "on loan" with the regiment you're playing as. Simple as that.

As far as the original topic goes, you've GOT to come up with a clever line referencing IG doing all the work and SM's coming in to steal the glory.

Oh, and with recent Meleesrkins patch you could use another line from original Dawn of War (unless you hate this kind of rehashing)
