Servo Skull?

That wargear from inquisitor I have not been seeing people using. In what circumstances should one consider this upgrade?
At first when I looked at this thing I was like "skull scout into nuke wow so cool much skills". And of course I never pulled this out. I tried to use it in different ways like to counter invisible heresies such as LA and Knob, but it didn't work because buying a detect unit is much easier to counter infiltration, not to mention the additional damage it provides. Plus the shield on inquisitor is awesome for early tankiness. Now only good thing to pull off for me atm is skull scan into ST drop for backcapping/surprise attack. I have consider banewolf near Gen farm but it's too much salt for even an inquisitor to make it happen imo.
love to do this with an FS bud in retail LMAO
Any ideas to make the skull work?

Only one tactic should be enough for you to understand; combine it with Manticore.

Sudden rockets out of nowhere. You won't give a chance to enemy to understand it. Pretty cool in my opinion.
I also use it to open the path of my army. If there are 2 ork players coming for me, I basicially back off before they unlesh annoying dakka on me and bleed my models with it. Also, I can come together with a team mate much earlyer.
You help your team mates to nuke enemy camping area suddenly.

Lol a new ways to deal with beacon and LR.
Seems I gotta practice predicting enemies' retreat path now

Pretty amazing to deal with infiltrated stuff if you are lacking catas or to spot a position before assaulting it.

Skull is super awesome. Good combos are:
ML Sents
Autocannons
Stealth counter
Mantis
Russ
Inq already has sight range if 50, so the skills +15 on top of this is NUTS. It allows you to more strategically pick fights if you are a roamer army, and to siege better as a static army. It's very, very strong.

It is perfect and amazing in theory. On practice though, would you pick it over a invulnerability AND speed buff for a MELEE commander who's lacking synergy with her army and relies heavily on her brokenness? I don't know mane, people say IG is fine as it is, that mean IG is fine as it is.
If you want an idea on how to improve it: give it an active that turns a non-detector unit into detector.

This.
If catas are wiped (curse of tzeentch! high explosive shells! hook on immortal leader!) then having on demand detection for 0 upkeep is great...
and you can always switch to this wargear, it's 20 power, just because most players don't swap wargears back and forth doesn't make it unviable.

I think the only gripe some people would have with it would be that the scan lasts for what? 5 seconds?
Its a pretty wicked wargear. Just have your shit ready to launch right after you scan.

One more question: do enemies know you scan them? Iike an indicator on the location?

I think now it is no longer the no brain purchase since elite mod had tweeked it. It is 85 seconds cooldown! Unless I want to cap desperately I will stick to my cute blue bubble if I want tankiness.
