Why can't Empyreal Abyss destroy buildings?

Gonna keep it short. Rocks, Elritch, Orbitals, and if I am not wrong, Tyranoformation can destroy buildings but why can't Abyss? I tried destroy an IG bunker today and failed. I saw another fail in Angel Gate's vanillia bunkers in one of Lord Indrids cast. I suppose something about damage type or something like that. Can someone give much better explanation?

Because heavy melee doesn't do much damage to buildings like you guessed.
From the codex:
https://www.dawnofwar.info/elite/damage ... elee_heavybuilding 0.05
garrison 1 (yet says accuracy is 0.5, can someone clarify what accuracy is?)

Abyss does heavy melee, which is more effective against retreating units, all other nukes do explosive, the nid one though, I think is special in that regard, it's spires one shot buildings regardless of how much damage each spire does or healt the building has, as it's perk to counter late game camping or something along these lines.

lol retreating units.... I don't know much about Empyreal Abyss,...but I don't think that was an intentional design.

Why not?
I think it is quite chaotic indeed personally for a big gaping hole into the warp to pop open right in the middle of a retreating army and suck them all into their annihilation.

Well, therein lies its problem.. The Abyss is way too stationary to deal any respectable damage to retreating units. Heck most times, units could just walk out of it's impact zone. Albeit the odd 1 or two would get pulled in.

I dunno how you use your Abyss's but I've always thought of it as one of the better and more reliable nukes. Just stick it underneath a vehicle when there's blobbing happening, and there's no way for a retreating army to avoid lots of imminent losses.
You can't just put it in an army's retreat path and expect it to do all the work, but very few nukes would ever achieve that.

What???
No, you have to force them to be funneled through a small area - like walking around the edge of a wall and if the abyss is there all models run through it and it can literally kill armies.
It is waaaay better at killing stuff on retreat than not on retreat precisely because of how small the actual damage area is, but 200heavy melee damage a second kills most things very fast, it basically wipes all 500hp models running through it on retreat. So that's most ordinary infantry squads.

I also think 500 red nuke not killing buildings is dumb.

TUTORIAL ON HOW TO SET UP ARMY WIPING NUKES:

Play Eldar, fixes everything.
To the topic at hand, each nuke has its ups and downs (have been discussed before) and it is good this way.

Lol that is me! haha!
Caos nuke can't destroy buldings because tyranoformation can't kill lvl 1 heavy bolter squad with the central spike.
