yesterday I had a "rating" of 1601. That is because I won against "boss" and my rating increased from like 1560 to 16001 after it went from "pending" to the calculates state. Today, one day after, I have a "rating" of 1591 so it dropped by 10. I havent played a match at all and so my last match is still the one against where I gained "rating". But today..... I lost "rating".... WTF?
I see see others remaining on their rating and only their "idle days" increase, their "rating" stays the same. Other players ofc rise up in between due to their increasement of rating - thats good. Anybody seems to keep his rating when he doesnt play. NOT ME. guess I have a bug here?

I was already under the impression that I lose rating every day, but now I saw this exact decreasement from 1601 to 1591 happen from 1 day to the other.
Is there a bug, or is it just happening?

im a bit pissed. its not too important to me, but ofc I care for my rank because since I always try to win and feel happy climbing up the ladder a bit.

your rating = glicko - (RD + RD/2)

And RD increases automatically for everyone everyday, creating a decay. By +5/day I think
And it only decreases by playing.


btw, looking at your stats, and doing math, yesterday, you were 1597, not 1601.

I'm wrong about the +5/day for everyone, it's +5/day without playing.
But it doesn't change a lot what I said.

You stopped playing 2 days after your game, so your RD increase by +10.
It's really fine.

ESL rating features the reliability rating thingy (RD) that decreases when you play games but it also increases with inactivity.

Your absolute skill rating doesn't drop but since your ESL rank is skill rating - (2*RD), you will drop ranks if you are inactive.

If you don't play, your RD increases and you drop in rankings.

Your skill rating has increased with every victory and gone down with every defeat. It seems to be working as intended. No bugs that I can see.
