Faction tactics compendium

Ahoy :3
As I was looking though the possibilities that which faction could provide the most reliable and best disruption, crowd control, root, snare, ect, combined with tactical stuff I was wondering what are your opinion about this stuff?
I found that the most of this comes from IG or Eldar. Aside of the basic suppression that each faction has with the setup teams, IG has the spotters + manticore that can do some nasty tactical play. Coupled up with the crossbow pistol of the Inquisitor, I think you can see where my idea is going
Eldar has this with Warpspider exarch (the root) or Farseer gravity blade + rangers + wraithguard + later Fire Prisms :3
The main thing is, disruption in this game is great. It can make or lose a fight. I know its not always about disruption, since vehicle could care less for a mortar shell or a gravity blade x) But that's where the other tactical part would come in (smoke shell, manticore, wraithguard, setup teams, ect.)
I really love guerilla warfare and ambush tactics, coupled with smart play

And Eldar and IG are the closest what I have in mind so far

Let me know what you think about it

I'd be curious about what goes together well to achieve this type of combat style =)
Or if I've missed a race that could also do some nasty stuff

this is not a simple question, although the way i see it, each race has different types of disruption that they focus on.
for example, chaos excels at suppressing stuff, sm is good at knockback, eldar has them all, so forth. because of this, complimenting a different type of knockback is very good for each faction. for example, noise marines and havoks have very good synergy, one of the reasons being noise marines can provide knockback to guard havoks - as chaos librarian put it, they are made for each other

edit: even amongst a single race, the commander choice can spice up the disruption quite a bit. while orks mainly use suppression - and maybe some knockbacks - knob focuses on stun, and stormboy jump, big stun bomb, & wierdboy stun all chain together very well, not to mention trippa shot and stickkbomaz.

I've always felt that the hero who induces the most rage in your opponent is the chaos sorc.
Looking for my AC tics? They're hiding over here under worship, and now your ranged blob is null and void.
Is your last squad escaping with one model? I will teleport after it with my sword of flame and drink your tears as that 50 hp ASM model dies to an awesome sync kill.
Oh, you got a melee army? Let me pull out my chains of torment and stick them all in place while my tcsm burn them to death.
Suppression team? Simple math equation: Warp Rift +AC tics +KCSM=dead enemy suppression team
You got termies/nobz/seer council? Let me break out the tome of subjugation. JUST AS PLANNED.
You thought my plague marines were tough, huh? Let me put them in a demon shield to give a new meaning to the phrase "Feel no pain"
Etc, etc
Every hero has some pretty sweet tricks with his/her faction. These are just some of the ones that drive me crazy.

Inquis has the best crowd control abilities in the game. Combined with manticore/hellfury/w.e you can think of, you can pull of some nasty abuse... I mean combos. :]

This, but be warned the inquisitor dies in two seconds to anything. Unless you went for a rosarius, brazier build which is ridiculously good at countering melee.

The best crowd control belongs to the Weirdboy. 8 secons of stun in a stupidly large AOE is just deadly. For the factions you mentioned, I'd go with Eldar. Every one of their heroes has some king of AOE CC (gravity blade, merciless witchblade, the WSE grenades...).
Also you get lots of T1 knock back/suppresssion and they match the style of play you mentioned (webways

). IG are more of a stand and shoot army xD.

If you really really want crowd control then play the kommando nob, you get a stun bomb, tons of AoE abilities, Weirdboy in t2, stikkbommas, kommando squad drop-in...

Actually I'm quite fond of the tactical aspect of the eldar :3
Rangers with the pathfinder gear (aside of the fact they are sniping the hell out of ppl XD) can make some nasty ambush :3 Also I'm quite fond of the destruction a single wraithguard squad can do x)
And yes, chaos sorc is one of the most versatile heroes in the game ^^ I was always smiling when I've seen Chaos Librarian using rift or other goodness with the sorc on Indrids casts xD
Oh, and I was wondering... why I never see IG players use manticores to kill off a gene farm ? oO they only need visuals and they make short work of it (especially 2x manti) + it will level them up, which makes them even more deadly --> win-win ^^

Oh, and same deal with the Knobs bomb =) wonder why the players dont ever use it to blow the heck up of a gene farm with 1 bomb XD They can always finish the job if they have the knife (its power melee if I recall it correct ?)
And btw... got to love the wierdboy's warp womit x) its just silly how big of an AoE snare it is XD combine it with some storm boys or nobs and bye-bye anything caught in the AoE

Since we are at it

How about we make this thread a compendium of nice tips and tricks and comboes ? :3
So everybody can learn a bit of the other factions capabilities and perhaps play better next time ?

i actually use them that way, also knife isn't power melee, but it's 70 melee
but i wouldn't get it too often, the basic shoota of his is just great
i would get it vs fc apo, or lollock

Guys, how about everybody could write in their tactics and experiences with setups and stuff working together :3
Tricks and tipps about your fave faction that you know of :3
So all knowledge would be in this thread

New ones and even some older players could learn some new stuff

Similar to the ones you've wrote so far :3
Would be amazing for new players too ^^

It's a whopping 10 seconds.

It takes like 3-4 missiles hits to get one gen in Elite I think.
Not the most effective way to use your manticore.

It needs 4 missiles that direct hit.

Manticores are better at wiping devestator squads than they are at bashing power.
Just make sure your enemy doesn't have fast AV/infiltrating AV

Looking to keep to Kilgarns point : Made a video reply

Multiple ways to gen bash with IG (or any faction for that matter). But as it's been said, Manticore missiles are a waste on gens, as the cooldown between shots could be disastrous for you.
A fun way to bash gens (but has quite a few down falls as well) is to use dbl sentinels. I've been using them quite a bit lately and by tier 2, if you can micro them and keep them safe, you can do some great flanks with their Frag missiles (just hit 'em in the middle of a blob of troops and just watch the bars of health drop). If you force a retreat, follow up with a quick gen bash as your opponent runs to base for reinforcement. With 2 sentis, it'll just take two volleys of your krak missles from each senti to take down a gen, so you can wipe out their power farms really quick. I've also been noticing that the double sentinel strategy works wonders when your on a map like one of the refineries and are in the centre position between two other allies. Since a lot of your time will be spent flanking left or right, it helps to deviate a bit of the focus away from your sentinels, since your opponent will have two enemies to focus on instead of one. As you can imagine, combined with their reasonable speed, they can do sneaky hit and runs in T2 - just beware snares from things like lascannons or anything of that nature.

Reasonable speed? They're the third fastest unit in the game. Joint second fastest with the autarch if you exclude abilities at speed 8

Cos it was nerfed, for a reason.

Hehhe, so thats why ?

Good to know about Sentinels tho :3 I always liked sentinels since you cant bleed off of it and it works nice, even in T2

What works well together ? (hero gear + units ^^)
I know that Knob's stunbomb + Nobs + Wierdboy is crazy...
Also Commissar's None shall fall + a crapload of guardsman + stormtoorpers

Mark Target from Techmarine with a good ranged unit can make some nasty things...
Warpsider Exarch's Gravity 'nade + wraitchguard also can do some crazy stuff x)
