COUNTDOWN TO TOURNEY START
http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/ge ... sive&csz=1

Preamble:
There's a lot to cover and yet at the same time I feel like I don't have much to say right now :/ It's an odd feeling.

-DoW3 has been announced!!! So, just in case anyone thought otherwise, I am planning to run tournaments until DoW3's release. I don't know if I'll just move onto DoW3 from there as I never really planned for this to become a long term thing. Hopefully people can actually put together them moneyz by that time and I can play the game a bit more :P . Honestly, the future in general is in doubt for me. I might even just keep doing DoW2 stuff even if DoW3 starts up. We'll see.

-I am also gearing up to do a big Championship style tournament at the end of the year and, if my suspicions of a late 2017 release for DoW3 are right, we should have plenty of space for a second farewell Championship to DoW2 there as well.

- I'm tentatively putting out the Tier system now for tournaments to be used for player level screening. The Tier system was what ultimately became of the league system. I'm going to put in a separate thread in the Tournaments section to explain how the Tiers work, but for the purposes of an MRT, Tiers don't do anything and they're open to all players.

- As a general note, I haven't forgotten about Beginner Tournaments and Team Tournaments (Team Tumbles). I'll have more to say on them in the separate thread, but they still exist don't worry :P.

- As always, if you have any questions please leave them here or message me on Steam and I'll help how I can!

General Info:
The complete set of information including Brackets and Participants are listed in the MRT 24 tournament page!

Date:Monthly Rumble Tournament #24 will be on Sunday, May 29th.
Time:17:00 UTC (for help converting the timezone)

The tournament will be played in the 1v1 format with Victory Point Control rules.
The tournament will be welcome to Tier 1- Players.
The tournament will be played on the 2.5.1 patch.

Confirmed Streamers:

Rules:
It's going to be a single elimination tournament and we'll play as many signups as possible.
Refer to the Codex Tournamentus for an overview.

Map Picks
Maps are always selected before hero picks.

The first match of a round will always be a fixed map as shown in the brackets. After this, the map pick will be the losing player's choice. Only maps in the map pool may be played to be considered a valid tournament match.

No map can be played more than once within a round. Each player will have the option to veto a single map during a round, excluding the first match map. Maps that are variants of other maps, such as Pale Tooth Gorge and Green Tooth Gorge, will count as one map and can't be selected in the same round.

Hero Picks

The player on the top side of the bracket cell will lock in their heroes first for the first match. Next game, the player on the bottom side of the bracket cell will lock in their heroes first, and the order will alternate like this until the final game. In the final game of the round, the losing player of the previous match will pick the map and then their hero first.

To check out who is on the top and bottom of your bracket cell, just look at the Brackets page. If your name is in the blue bar, you're the top of the bracket. If it's in the red bar, you're the bottom of the bracket.

Ok so a couple notes:

1) I'm probably not actually going to be able to be around for this one :( That being said, I lined up a couple people able to handle the job in this event so don't worry.

2) The prizes for this tournament will once again be hype videos for Champion and Runner Up, although I'll still be offering the Steam games as well. I will definitely be updating stock once the Steam Summer Sale happens!

3) The original post is now completely updated and ready to go!

4) BbBoS is considered a reserve player for now because it was kind of a mixed registration.

Better make myself available and stretch those tourney-organiser muscles.

Good morning everyone, apparently I won't be able to make the tournament today due to some Unforseen prior established events I was unaware of. Good luck all. Please do enjoy yourselves.

I am a noob and i know it ( so there is no difference of which player i have to go agains ) but i dislike this organizzation , if a player don't answer to a mp after 20 min is automatically defeated ... but i got 3 different opponents , 3 !!
If someone don't answer is like a forfeit in my opinion ...

By disqualifying them when they were already in a game would have caused more upset.

Look, I know it wasn't a well made bracket, but that's because we got so few sign ups at first and then were inundated with them, so it kept us quite busy prior to the tourney, so we had to make some compromises to ensure everyone could play. It was a bit shoddy because it had to be juggled between three people, so I do apologise, but I needed to squeeze everyone in, thus why your match was delayed.

Maybe it is time to consider banning people for one tournament if they register but do not show up for the event without explanation. I find it very disappointing that we see this time and time again.

Well done and a big fat congratulations to Big Mathis for winning MRT 24, and a hearty round of applause to Yaay for playing very valiantly to make it a 3-2 final.

We started out with 8 players on the day, and then grew to 14 just before it started, so some reasonable success there, even if the seeding did get a bit mixed up. We'll address that next time but it's important to bear in mind that we had little time to work with, so I tried to make the best of a bad situation.

Big thanks to BbBoS and Noobus for covering the stream elegantly, and great job to Atlas for getting this thing going, not to mention the hawk eyed Crew to spot my miserable failures.

We're working on some bigger, more exciting tourney ideas, so let's see where we can go from here on out.

Congratulations to Mathis on his first Monthly Rumble Tournament victory. It is very much overdue.

And a further shout-out to him for continuing to prove that multiple slugga builds are more than viable atm with the warboss and even other heroes!

Well played. Of course the same must be said to yaay for his truly meticulous, well microed, wse playstyle. It's crafted to an art in that player and it is commendable.
