Minor Visual Changes

Back (briefly) to request some visual changes which I think would be popular, I mean Commie claw was implemented for the lol of it so...

1. Big choppa for Stormboy Nob, like nob squad default. He has heavy melee so for god's sake let's give him a heavy melee weapon not a paper knife
2. Shiny SG bolters for TM/apo bolter upgrades. They're supposed to be master-crafted rite? Master-crafted sounds shinier than normal bolter to me. Would like scope for TM upgraded bolter and box magazine for apo full auto s'il te plait.
3. Does anyone feel Raptor maul is much much cooler than CL maul? Since the raptor maul is so rare, would it be possible to resize the raptor maul to be used by the CL? If it's a hassle obviously dw I'm just curious

I'd like to see them all! ;)

I'm not entirely sure if the maul is doable, or if anyone thinks it's worth the effort to switch it around, but it would be a nice touch and would look far more badass on the chaos lord ;)

+1 for the Stormboyz. Need to be careful if the slower animation of the Big Choppa affects performance though. Big swing of front-loaded damage is usually better than smaller faster swings vs vehicles since you may only get one hit before it kites away.

Dunno if there are any new bolter models.

Don't think the mauls should be changed, as there will be just as many people that don't want them messed with most likely.

again, lulgrim said that animation and damage are independent. that said, he (grammatically lulgrim) should do damage when he swings.

Yes I assumed it would be made to coincide with the new animation but just have the same DPS, would look silly otherwise.

Don't Nob leaders get a bigger choppa with a higher army level?

99% sure there are new bolter models for SG (sorry lul if I'm wrong). Well that may be the case but I still want to know, your personal opinion on these is...?

I wouldn't change the mauls personally, I think they both look pretty badass.

Yes, all of these please ( see sig )

Edit: If possible I'd like to see a differentiation between the TM and the Apo Mastercrafted Bolters.

A Scoped one for the TM ( high powered shot ), and one with a Box-Magazine ( full auto ) for the Apothecary.

not sure how much work the maul thingy would be though.

Since, CL and Raptors ofcourse use different animations, the weapons might be "tied" to those and they arent just switch-around-able, cant know of course.
I mean, just because they look similar, doesnt mean they use the same bones, etc.

Scoped bolter for TM and box-magazine bolter for Apo would be great.

Both mauls are badass, just the daemon maul is one of the best in the game and it's a waste to have one of the best weapon models on something so underused.

Lulgrim, is it hypothetically possible to simply switch the mauls around (with resizing etc) or is it gonna be a hassle with their different animations?

Provided there's a model for TM's Master-Crafted Bolter (currently being worked on) how do we make TM switch the weapon model? I could replace the one he currently uses, but that would result in changing all the bolters.

the upgrade needs to add a model change if it doesn't already. i'm not sure how exactly one goes about doing that but it is certainly doable.

I was going through the game files and found out there actually is a big choppa for Nob leaders that was supposed to unlock as an epic item but there is no texture for it. I guess they originally intended it to be in the game but somehow forgot about it.

Were you able to take a look on it?

In the Campaign for example there is a Big Choppa Model that I think is nowhere to be used in mp.

Yeah, the one in the picture isn't used elsewhere in the game. But it's there with textures and everything so I guess it could be just exported and assigned to Nob leaders only. It's up to people really if they prefer a sword or an axe. The sword is textureless but I could make a texture easily.

Edited:
Just realized the axe is two-handed. The sword it is then.

A very minor unnecessary Visual Change.

"Storm Trooper squads are effective at spearheading assaults into heavily fortified positions, infiltrating behind enemy lines and sowing confusion and panic. They are often dropped into the thick of combat from Valkyrie Assault Carriers [...] "

"The Valkyrie is a Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) airborne assault carrier used primarily by the Imperial Guard as both a gunship and a transport for airborne combat regiments like Storm Trooper Squads[...]

_______fluff_______

Stormtroopers and Valkyries have a bit of a relationship in the background, as Stormtroopers often fill the role of Paratroopers, Specialforces and similar in 40k.

So, I was wondering, just maybe, the Inquisitor's call-in-Stormtroopers could spawn via Valkyrie-dropping-in Animation ( like the banewolf, the bunker, etc ) instead of teleporting in, like they do right now.

That is all.

I prefer them sneaky too.

also

is there a way to revert the changes of the warboss. Those two poles on his back should light up no? as of now they are pretty bland. I wish I could have him back to his original DOW 2 Retribution level 60 look

This as icon replacements for Dire Avengers and their Exarch and Dark Reapers. Atleast as place holders untill something better comes:

The Dark Reaper is from the Eldar codex right? I don't think it's allowed to use copyrighted GW material.

More a Question than a suggestion,

is there a reason why the Grey Knight Librarian doesnt use a Force Staff, or doesn't upgrade to one like the regular Librarian does?

There was no grey staff available.

Grey Knights should be called Silver Knights anyway, but whatever.

Perhaps tie a force staff into the might of titan upgrade?

Suggestion:

Replacing the Lord General's Sergeant Sergeant retinue member with a Medic one.

Just to add a bit more fluff and optical diversity.

Rename him to medic in the meantime too. Makes so much more sense than a sarge giving out health packs. Really liking this.

It appears there is already a working model for it? Who's is it from? Are they allowed to use it? If so post the file here or send it to Lugrim&Caeltos.
