Preamble:
- I'm going to be restocking Steam games during the Summer Sale, so make sure to let me know what you want! EDIT: I will also just get whatever game you guys want at the end of the tournament as well.

- The big news on this one is actually a question regarding structure from now on. I've been considering doing back to back tournaments at the end of the month, with the MRT on the Sunday and the other on the Saturday before. Sort of like how Impregnable's Faction War is set up. Would you guys be interested in that? Let me know!

- After this tournament, I think I'll do a Team Tumble for the next one. We haven't had one in a while. EDIT: There will be both a Beginner Tournament and a Team Tumble next month, so hooray \o/

- As a last note, I've had a couple people approach me about doing their own tournaments, and I completely welcome them to try it! I'll be able to provide the logistical support and tutorials as needed. Don't worry, it's not super hard or anything Check them out! They're all a little different from the "usual" tournaments I put up.

General Info:

Date:Monthly Rumble Tournament #25 will be on Sunday, July, 3rd.
Time:18:00 UTC (for help converting the timezone)

The tournament will be played in the 1v1 format with Victory Point Control rules.
The tournament will be welcome to All Skill Levels.
The tournament will be played on the 2.5.1 patch.

Rules:
It's going to be a single elimination tournament and we'll play as many signups as possible.
Refer to the Codex Tournamentus for an overview.

Map Picks
Maps are always selected before hero picks.

The first match of a round will always be a fixed map as shown in the brackets. After this, the map pick will be the losing player's choice. Only maps in the map pool may be played to be considered a valid tournament match.

No map can be played more than once within a round. Each player will have the option to veto a single map during a round, excluding the first match map. Maps that are variants of other maps, such as Pale Tooth Gorge and Green Tooth Gorge, will count as one map and can't be selected in the same round.

Hero Picks

The player on the top side of the bracket cell will lock in their heroes first for the first match. Next game, the player on the bottom side of the bracket cell will lock in their heroes first, and the order will alternate like this until the final game. In the final game of the round, the losing player of the previous match will pick the map and then their hero first.

To check out who is on the top and bottom of your bracket cell, just look at the Brackets page. If your name is in the blue bar, you're the top of the bracket. If it's in the red bar, you're the bottom of the bracket.

Right so, updated for now. Couple things to note.

- Not sure if I've already covered this one, but with the Tiers system in place now, the seeding system is being slightly altered. I'll be doing the closest I can to a "standard seed" spread, with #1 matched up to #16, 2 to 15 and so on. I'll just be going off of your ESL ranking for determining your seed. If it doesn't generate good matches, then I'll review again.

- I'm considering pushing this tournament back one hour (18 UTC instead of 17 UTC). This would allow people who wanted to do both the Faction War and the MRT to be able to sign up for both and still play the MRT is they lose in the Faction War. Would you all be cool with that?

- With the Steam sale going on through the tournament, I'll either just buy the Steam game for the winner/runner up on the spot or hand people the fat stack of student cash. As such, I won't label an exact prize yet. That being said, I am paying attention to the prize wishlist thread and for the most part they all look doable.

- Shoutout to the Faction War coming up too! It's something a little different that what we've done and it's nice to have other people taking up the mantel of putting together activities! If you don't really want to play in the MRT I would highly suggest that you check it out!

I'm going to make an executive decision and delay the tournament one hour on Sunday. I already outlined the reasons for doing so in the post above, so just know that the tournament is now happening at 18:00 UTC (1 hour later than usual).
