Master-Crafted Bolter for TM

UPDATED: 5.10.

I reworked the texture so it now looks a bit better. Gave the plate wooden like colors and fixed the speculars. If you have a better idea for the color still let me know.

--------------------

As requested I made this reality.

Unfortunately so far it can't be used properly as a new weapon after upgrading the wargear. But you can still try it out using it instead of the regular bolter. Replaces rare and epic version.

The color of the inner part of the decoration plate doesn't seem to be the right thing so if you have any suggestions do tell.

I hope it'll be possible to somehow implement it and make it work the way it should.

Sweet!

Just downloading and installing should automatically put it in Elite?

Or is this gonna be introduced in the next patch?

If you want to try it out just extract the rar into elite_beta folder.

I certainly hope it's going to be possible to make it an upgrade for TM. If we see it in the next patch, I don't know.

It looks like a SteamPunk Bolter^^

Just the Ruby pops out / contrasts a bit too much with the rest of the bolter design IMHO.

I think I'll give this a shot till we get a proper implementation. Where exactly would I drop the files in?

I already created and packed all the folders in the rar, so simply putting the Data folder from rar with everything in it to Elite_beta in your retribution folder will do.

I wasn't really sure about the design of the thing so I used this as my inspiration:

Making that cross thingie white and red was just the first thing I came up with. You think making it a bit darker and lowering the contrast of the ruby would be ok? Or maybe a completely different color?

This is included in beta 5.

As upgraded bolter then? Not just standard one?

That was the idea.

Sorry I'm dumb like that since people mentioned it was only a reskin and couldn't figure out how to bound it to the upgrade :p But you obviously know how to do it then ^^

Well the bolters, plasma gun and meltagun look different, don't they...

Similar plans for the Apothecary? Or should we only expect one for Techmarine?

I'll make one for the Apothecary too. I just have to figure out the design and then put it all together.

I can't see the pics (work firewall) but IIRC this has Marine-style storm bolters with box mags: http://s1.zetaboards.com/The_fsc/single ... &t=4449963

Apo MCB could just have the bigger mag as suggested and some bling (to put the "master" in it) if you feel like it. Just take what you made for TM and swap the scope for the box mag?

I wanted each master-crafted piece to be unique. So yes, I'll swap the scope for the storm bolter mag but I'd like to make the decoration different.

BTW thanks for the link. The stuff there looks neat.

Hmm how about you make it a twin-barrel gun as well and we name it Storm Bolter? Would suit the ability IMO.

Edit: Could also make Tech MCB a Stalker Bolter - does it need an extended barrel for this?

Ive yet to see Stalker Bolters in DoW2, not sure if anyone ever made one.

For the Apothecary's MCB I propably would go for a clean, white paintjob with the double helix ( is it called like that ? ) as decoration.

I looked at some pictures of the Stalker Bolter and I don't really know about remaking the model into one. If the TM started shooting with slower fire rate and higher damage per shot then I'd do it. But for now I'll leave it as it is.

About the Master-Crafted Storm Bolter using the one in game unfortunately won't do so I'll have to make one from scratch. It'll take a weak or two. I hope I'll still make it in time for the new patch coming.

won't do because you don't think it fits well enough or won't do because there are bone issues?

Re: Master-Crafted Bolter for TM

There are more reasons. The bone isn't the problem here. I think it fits the way it is. There is also the fact that remaking it would most likely result in remaking the entire bolter. And honestly I don't feel like getting back to remaking what I just finished. I might, just not right now. First I want to finish the Apo's bolter and see if the Vindicare Assassin gets into game so I can make a model for him. Plus I already have a project going on of a completely redesigned FC.

Edited:
Also I'm not sure but isn't Stalker Bolter non-automatic weapon? I think in Space Marine it was. Don't know about TT though.

There is someone who allready made Stormbolters useable for Powerarmored Marines, but I cant find the mod anymore. ( damn you gooogle! )

But I for one am not really convinced regarding a Stormbolter for a Apothecary.

If it was for the TM sure, but a SB seems a bit too exotic / specialised for a field medic.

Stalker Pattern
The Stalker Pattern Bolter is a standard Godwyn Mark Vb Pattern Bolter modified with an M40 Targeter System and an elongated barrel so that is can also serve as a Sniper.

Stalker Silenced Shells
Stalker Silenced Shells are Bolter rounds with low sound signatures, meant for covert fighting. They are often used in conjunction with an M40 Targeter System, an extended barrel, and a stock to create a sniping weapon system. A gas cartridge replaces both the propellant base and main charge for silent firing, but this sacrifices muzzle velocity as a result. A solidified mercury slug replaces the mass-reactive warhead for lethality at sub-sonic projectile speed. These rounds are used when stealth and precision are required.

Built this a while ago.

The concept is a stalker pattern stern-guard bolter hybrid.

I do not remember how to line up the files to get the gun-skin on properly.

Hmm, not sure about the Kombination of Box Magazin AND Silencer.

If anything the pictures of StalkerBs Ive seen so far had a shortened one.

Might be just my taste, but I'd prefer distinctive looks for TM and Apo Bolters.

So, I think it looks really cool, but if its supposed to be for the TM I'd go without the Box. :)

What you really want though is the Exitus Rifle

Exitus rifle is Vindicare only, SM don't get it. (There is an Exitus Rifle wargear in the Chaos Rising campaign, but it acts and looks like any other sniper rifle for Cyrus).

I think that Sternguard veterans in the Codex Edition mod can upgrade to stormbolters. There are definitely models out there.

Hi Alexander here,

If your going to engage in conversation with my post then please do me the respect of calling me my real name and obviously leave your own. Cheers.

To put things into perspective I am writing from the perspective of imagination, design and creativity .

Speaking generally, most the stuff from 28mm miniatures range never transitioned too well into the shooter games.

Compared to say a M4 Carbine, Crysis Gauss Rifle, most the 40k guns look undefined and chunky.

However here is a fine example of a "redesign" which, in my opinion, gives it a new look and definition.

You can ask for it, but it's really not a rule on this forum so if people don't want to, you'll kind of just have to live with it...

That's probably mostly due to poor understanding of firearms back when the original Spess were drawn (it's an oversized SMG, that's pretty retarded), and maybe (?) some technical limitation with the detail/definition available on low budget plastic miniatures back then. Anyway the design is quite terrible but we're stuck with it now.
